It is becoming increasingly common to hear life scientists say that quality scientific findings rely upon quality animal care. This research project asks how and why animal care is being made an explicit part of scientific knowledge production today, in the context of translational medicine. It uses field analysis to map the evolution of animal care within biomedical research.
