Emerging Chemicals are of interest to the Department of Defense because they may affect the public, DoD's work force, the environment, or national security. The EC Info Portal is for the use of the staff and contractors supporting the Chemical and Material Risk Management Program (CMRMP). The purpose of the system is to assist the CMRMP in the identification, assessment, and management of emerging chemicals throughout the Scan, Screen, Watch, Action process... The Materials of Emerging Regulatory Interest Team (MERIT) demonstrates DoDs commitment to protecting the public, our work force, the environment, and our national security. The MERIT consists of individuals throughout the department with a common interest in emerging chemicals. The MERIT's members are located in many different offices, functional communities, and locations. The MERIT was established and is led and supported by the CMRMP.
