I spent 26 years as a full time litigator. Initially, I was engaged solely in securities litigation but as time progressed, I became involved in employment litigation. As a litigator, I tried approximately 130 arbitrations and eleven trials. Because of my employment litigation experience, I was chosen to be a member of the committee that initially drafted the employment rules for the American Arbitration Association. I retired from the active practice of law in November 2000 and have been a full time neutral ever since. I have arbitrated over 125 cases, usually as the sole arbitrator, and have mediated approximately 250 cases. Issues arbitrated or mediated on a regular basis include wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, breach of employment contract, ERISA, covenants not to compete, securities, general commercial disputes, and professional malpractice. I have also from time to time been involved in insurance, franchise, medical malpractice, and construction..
