The Politi Lab is home to a multidisciplinary team that studies health communication and shared decision-making. We explore questions that have implications for both public health and clinical practice. Our work helps patients and the public understand health information, explore what is important to them when making health decisions, and collaborate to make evidence-informed decisions that meet their needs. We also study the financial toxicity (burden of care costs) of health care and ways to offset the high costs of care during health decision making and its implementation. We work with clinical and community partners to ensure that our research is relevant to end users in clinical and community settings.
