Adam Detsky

Adam is an experienced trial attorney admitted to practice law in Colorado and New York. He has practiced in state and federal courts across the country. His civil litigation practice includes handling of a wide range of personal injury claims including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, product liability, FELA, bad faith claims, and coverage disputes. He has handled all aspects of personal injury litigation from inception of the claim through appeal representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Before joining Ramos Law, Adam spent over four years representing injured victims. Prior to that, Adam defended a national railroad against toxic torts claims stemming from long-term workplace exposure to various carcinogens. In addition to his legal practice, Adam dedicates significant energy towards volunteer activities. Adam serves as a member of the board of directors for the American Mock Trial Association ("AMTA") - an academic non-profit that organizes undergraduate mock trial for over 350 colleges and universities each year. Adam also serves as a member of the board of directors for the Mockingbird Foundation - a non-profit that writes competitive grants to youth music education services programs across the country. Adam also has a passion for teaching, having spent a decade as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at a university in New York. Adam received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Maryland, College Park. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law. After obtaining his law degree, Adam practiced at an Am Law 200 firm for over a decade in New York before moving to be closer with his family here in Colorado. My name is Alejandra Penilla and I am a Litigation Paralegal at the Ramos Law Firm. I was originally born and raised in Colombia, South America, and moved to the United States in 2016. I completed my JD degree and was admitted to practice law in Colombia and have been working in the legal industry since 2015. I joined the Ramos Law Firm to expand my career field. I have spent the last 6 years working on Labor Law, Wage and Hour cases in California. I was admitted to take the California Bar exam and am currently interested in taking the Arizona Bar exam. While in Colombia I worked at the Colombian National Army providing legal advice on recruiting issues for citizens. I also worked for Transparency for Colombia, a company that handled government project fund audits and special social programs financed by the European Union. I was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, but moved to Charleston, South Carolina to earn my undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston. After graduating in 2019, I moved to Denver and was accepted into the University of Colorado Law School. I joined Ramos Law in 2023 because I was enormously impressed - not only with the team's skill at litigation, but also with its dedication to client satisfaction. I was raised and homeschooled for eighteen years in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho before moving to Colorado to pursue a career as a chef. Through my studies in restaurants, I have learned what it takes to make sure that the people we serve, here at Ramos Law, get the best customer service possible.
