Albert Seubers is the Director of Martel Innovate BV and he plays a key role in the strategic and operational business development of the company. Graduated from the Wageningen University in 1985, and worked in IT services for Public Sector ever since, being involved in many publicly funded and commercial projects and initiatives in Europe and beyond.
Albert is a strong believer in the power of data and he has been playing a major role in several smart cities initiatives as former Director global strategy IT in Cities at ATOS. As we need near real-time information to better understand the impact of our choices on the environment and liveability of our cities. Where privacy needs to be respected when capturing data, secured edge technologies are needed. Governments, cities should collaborate more to create this information driven society. Using Open Source and common interoperability mechanisms will speed up the process of realisation.

Amjad Yousef Majid is a senior researcher at Martel. Amjad has several years of experience in research and development. His Ph.D. focused on the design and implementation of the green Internet of Things (battery-free IoT). As a post-doctoral researcher he led the research and development activity of the Internet of Robot project, an industry-academia collaborative project that focuses on distributed intelligent systems. Dr. Majid's work has resulted in several patents and influential publications. Finally, Amjad holds a Ph.D. and MSc. in Computer Science from the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.

Amrita joined Martel Innovate in January 2021 as the Partnership and Community Expert. She has over 5 years of experience as a community manager in Switzerland. She has initiated, led and managed several cloud technology communities like Docker, OpenStack, Cloud Foundry and SDN in Switzerland during this time. She was also one of the core persons of the Swiss Data Innovation Alliance (formerly known as Swiss Alliance for Data Intensive Services), having led and supported the communication, events and administration activities for the swiss data science community.
Amrita has a lot of experience in events organisation and takes immense joy in connecting people.
Having a masters in life sciences, a masters in international business, and working for several years in the Swiss technology environment, she has a flair for both science and business. At core, Amrita is a people's person with a very strong focus towards communication and collaboration.

Angelos was born in Athens, Greece, where he obtained a BA in International and European Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business. In 2008, he was awarded a PhD in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources Management from Dublin City University, Ireland, where he continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2012, he joined CERN, the world's largest particle physics laboratory to work at the Education and Public Outreach Group. During his professional journey at CERN, Angelos developed significant expertise in managing large-scale EU-funded and other international projects in science education, outreach, and communication. In 2020, he was appointed President of the Sectorial Scientific Council for Human Resources and Upskilling at the National Council for Research, Technology and Innovation, Greece's supreme government advisory body responsible for shaping and implementing a national strategy for Research, Technological Development and Innovation. Angelos is currently a Senior Project Manager at Martel, involved in Project Coordination, Management and Consulting.

Caecilia Zimmerman is Admin and Financial Assistant for Martel Innovate BV in the Netherlands supporting the smooth operation of several administrative and financial tasks. Caecilia has consolidated experience in bookkeeping and administrative responsibilities having worked for several organisations. She is a "spider in the web" a Dutch pronunciation for "webcrawler".

Catarina Pereira is a Senior Dissemination and Communication Specialist. Catarina's career path started with marketing account management and press consultancy. Before joining Martel, she worked as a Dissemination and Communication team leader and project manager of many Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects in several topics, while co-writing proposals and training her team on Dissemination and Communication management.
Catarina has a degree in Languages Applied to Business Relations and a bachelor in Communication Sciences from the University of Porto. She speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Dr Monique Calisti is the CEO of Martel Innovate and the President of the non-profit Digital for Planet she recently founded. She is a passionate entrepreneur and ICT expert featuring a digital soul and consolidated hands-on experience in research and innovation funding, strategic consulting, training, communication, social media marketing, as well as business development of sustainable and innovative software solutions across several industry segments.
Specialized in European Commission funding, with extensive domain knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and Next Generation Internet technologies (IoT, 5G, Cloud/Edge, etc.), Monique helps Martel's customers and partners in developing agile and efficient innovation strategies and plans.
Dr Calisti has been serving the European Commission as an expert evaluator and reviewer for many years and is currently a member of the board of Directors of the European AI, Data and Robotics Association, she is the Director of the European Next Generation Internet Outreach Office, as well as the Coordinator of the European Next Generation Internet of Things Coordination and Support Action.
In the last 20 years, Monique has been a speaker and moderator at several major scientific, technology, and policy events, she authored and edited many professional publications and many R&D project proposals and served as a Program Committee member of several international conferences.
Monique holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy.

Dr. Giacomo Inches is Senior Innovation Consultant within Martel Lab and he joined the company in May 2021. Giacomo has a leading role in project acquisition and execution within public funding (H2020, Horizon Europe) and commercial settings. He is combining technical depth and management finesse to lead teams and partners to the full achievement of project goals and also taking part in applied research activities and supporting the strategic analysis of relevant technologies.
Prior to join Martel, Giacomo acted as coordinator of the H2020 accessibility project CONTENT4ALL and as technical leader in several H2020 projects (BEinCPPS, Mediaverse, SignON) and proposals in different fields: IoT, Industrial IoT, Energy Efficiency, Factories of the Future, Creative Industries, Accessibility, Augmented/Virtual/Mixed Reality. Holding a Ph.D. in Informatics and a background as an Engineer, Giacomo is enriching the team with his experience matured in start-ups, large consultancy companies and research institutes on all the business lines of Martel.

Dr. Giovanni Rimassa is Chief Innovation Officer at Martel, supporting business development, market positioning and commercialisation activities of the company as a whole, as well as leading research and innovation initiatives with a particular focus around Artificial Intelligence and Human-Centered AI. Operating across Martel Consulting, Lab, and Media, Giovanni will provide stewardship to ideas, approaches and applications from research validation through technology transfer and product conception and/or engineering.
Giovanni's steady commitment to innovation resulted in a 20 year professional path between academia and industry. He authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and participated in several research projects within national and European programmes. On the ICT industry's side, he was first a co-founder of Frametech srl and then moved on to Whitestein Technologies AG, where he served for 15 years as senior researcher and product manager for intelligent, autonomic, and goal-oriented software products in business process management, wealth banking, insurance, and other domains.
Giovanni holds a Ph.D. in Information Engineering from Università di Parma, obtained with a Thesis titled "Runtime Support for Distributed Multi-Agent Systems", detailing his research and engineering contribution to the JADE Open Source middleware for multi-agent systems.

Dr. Lamprini Kolovou is the Head of the Consulting Team in Martel and she joined Martel in October 2018, starting as a Senior Project Manager.

Dr. Massimo Neri is Chief Technology Officer and Head of Lab at Martel, in charge of leading company-wide technological choices, strategy, as well as software design and development, and managing the whole Martel Lab within the framework of company mission, strategy, and operational goals.
Over the years, Massimo built up an all-round technical lead, also owning and managing an Italian SME company for more than 10 years, where he led the delivery of cloud, IoT and mobile software projects to enterprises and start-ups. Massimo has been scientific and technical coordinator in multiple EC & ESA projects focusing on satellite communications and smart applications, and authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, including journal papers, book chapter contributions, and articles in international conference proceedings.
Massimo holds a Ph.D. in Telecommunication Engineering from University of Bologna, Italy, and an Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi Management School in Milan, Italy, and has been Research Associate for the LTE standardization group at Qualcomm Inc, San Diego
Eleni is Project Manager at Martel and she is involved in project management and proposal development activities mainly in the frame of the Horizon Europe programme. She has worked for various foreign affairs, non-profit, public administration and private sector organisations across Europe, providing support, among others, in international event management, research initiatives, scientific cooperation projects and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to joining Martel, Eleni handled the Eastern Partnership file on civil protection cooperation at the European Commission (Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations), where she coordinated the entire programming lifecycle for disaster risk management programmes, policy development as well as regional and bilateral cooperation.
Eleni holds a Master's degree in International Public Management with a focus on international energy from Sciences Po Paris - Paris School of International Affairs.
Eugenia Kypriotis holds a degree in History and Philosophy of Science from University of Athens and a master's degree (MSc) on Science Communication from Imperial College London. Her career began as a Project Manager, at NGO level, organizing global science events, and it continued as a Project Manager at institutions with decision-making authority in the areas of innovation and education. She has over ten years of experience as a senior executive managing large-scale EU projects and has a track record of working in the research sector. She has worked on numerous projects serving initially research in the fields of Science Communication, Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), Citizen Science and Open Science. Later in her career, she shifted her interest to managing funded projects in the Biotechnology sector with a focus on the shaping of personalized medicine and advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). In the same context she has been assigned the lead for the launch of a postgraduate programme in the field. Today, Eugenia is a Senior Project Manager at Martel involved in Consulting.
Eva holds Master's degrees in International Relations, and in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
Besides management experience, she got involved in dissemination and event organization activities, stakeholder identification & engagement, risk assessment & contingency planning, expenditure monitorization, scientific reporting, Data Management and IPR issues. She has an in-depth knowledge on the European Union research programs, procedures, and ICT platforms. She contributed to policy analysis in horizontal fields involving several thematic issues such as public health, higher education, human rights and democracy promotion, development cooperation and environmental protection. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Hungarian.

Gabriele joined Martel as a Software Developer Intern in January 2017.
Back in High School he originally intended to pursue a career in Chemistry before developing a far greater interest in Computer Science. He graduated with a Master's degree in Science in Informatics in 2016 at the Università Della Svizzera Italiana (USI) in Lugano, Switzerland. His studies mostly focused on Software Development, with his Master Thesis dealing with the collection, monitoring and analysis of performance data, making use of state of the art technologies such as Docker and Apache Spark. Klaudia joined Martel in January 2021 as a Communication and Dissemination Specialist. She is involved in Martel's community building and communication and dissemination activities for various Horizon 2020 projects.
Klaudia holds a bachelor's degree in European Studies and a master's degree in International Economic Relations. With first-hand experience in communication, publishing, and project management honed in agency, start-up, and corporate settings across four continents. Klaudia offers a blend of creative, strategic, and operational expertise complemented by strong business acumen.
Marco joined Martel as a System Administrator in January 2023. Before that he worked as Service Desk Team Leader for an IT Company based in Schwyz. He has experience for other several companies that allowed him to get experiences in handling both virtualized and physical different servers infrastructures, mostly windows server-based.
He passionate about cryptocurrencies, e-commerce and digital marketing instead. And he is very much into rock and ice climbing, alpinism and trail running. Every week he climbs a peak!

Margherita is Senior Digital & Graphic Designer at Martel.
After a BSc and MSc degree in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano, she started working as Art Director in different realities like web, ad and digital agencies acquiring different competencies in various sectors such as: ATL, BTL, Publishing, Brand Identity, Web Design and Social Media.
She had teaching experience as teaching assistant at the design faculty of Politecnico di Milano.
She considers herself an eternal student and never misses an opportunity to improve and define new objectives and enrich her culture like following UX, social medias or video editing courses.
Maria Chiara is Senior Project Manager at Martel and she is involved in management, consulting as well as dissemination, communication and community management activities in a number of ongoing Horizon 2020 projects.
She also helps Martel and Martel's customers and partners in business acquisition through securing R&D&I public funding, including national and international European Commission grants provided through a variety of instruments.
Prior to joining Martel, Maria Chiara worked for several private, public and non-profit organisations providing support for R&D proposals/bid preparation (Horizon 2020, LIFE+, MED, Interreg, FP7, FP6, FP5), projects' financial management and communication and dissemination tasks.
Maria Chiara holds an MSc in Civil Engineering with specialization in Transport from Università degli Studi di Genova (Italy).

Politecnico di Milano and Tsinghua Beijing graduate, she has been working as jr. art director for a sustainable activist fashion brand in Milan, developing the rebranding and coordinating the omni-channel communication strategy.
Miguel Alarcón has an industrial engineering background and a cross-disciplinary profile. He worked for several years in the field of design of industrial processes/projects, to then found a web design and marketing agency in 2004 where he gets strong skills in web, graphic design, video production and community management. In the last 12 years, he has worked on several LLP, FP7 and H2020 projects in the ICT domain as in-house consultant mostly for communication, dissemination and multimedia design tasks. In 2013, he joined Martel as Senior Multimedia Designer focusing his work on dissemination and communication activities through web design, social networking, promotional material (from conception to realization) and multimedia (video production). He is currently involved in several H2020 and Horizon Europe projects with various responsibilities about internal and external communication. Finally, he is also responsible of the corporate (identity and materials) of Martel Innovate and Digital for Planet.
