This can be a deep dive or a quick summary depending on the project... While studying cryptography in graduate school in 2010, I was amazed how difficult most security tools were to use. Noticing the frequency of user-introduced security flaws, I became convinced that usability was a key way to advance cryptographic tools. Motivated to improve security through usability, I became a UX researcher and strategist. In the past 10+ years, I have had the joy of working with many smart people to help build systems that meet business goals (security, profit, etc) and support user needs.
