Dr Bruce Rodda

Dr Bruce Rodda qualified in 2003 from Barts and the Royal London School of Medicine. After House Jobs, Bruce started his anaesthetic training at Broomfield Hospital in 2005. He then moved to the North Central School of Anaesthesia in 2009 for further, Specialist Registrar training where he completed fellowships in Vascular Surgery, Airway Surgery (ENT plus Head and Neck) and Obstetrics. Over the next six year s he worked at many institutions including UCH; The Royal Free; The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery; The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital; Moorfields; St. Bartholomew's Hospital and the Royal London Hospital. In 2015, Bruce was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training and commenced work as a Consultant at Broomfield Hospital. Bruce's main area of clinical expertise is regional anaesthesia for Plastic and Orthopaedic surgery. He also specialises in ENT and Maxillo-facial surgery as well as high risk, Vascular surgery. Bruce is a keen teacher and is currently undertaking educational training at the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Resuscitation Council. Outside of medicine Bruce enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, skiing and playing hockey for Bishop's Stortford Hockey Club.

Dr Dilshan Arawwawala

Dr Dilshan Arawwawala was educated at Ilford County High Grammar School, Essex and in 1996 qualified in Medicine from Manchester University. After two years of Internal Medicine he obtained the postgraduate qualification of MRCP (Member of the Royal College of Physicians). Choosing to specialise in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine he trained mainly within the Imperial School of Anaesthesia, notably at Chelsea and Westminster, Hammersmith, Royal Marsden, Royal Brompton Hospitals as well as the St Andrew's Centre for Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In 2007 he finished specialist training, qualifying in both Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. In Consultant post since 2007 at Broomfield Hospital, he specialises in Anaesthesia for Reconstructive Breast Surgery and Intensive Care for Burns. He is the Research Lead for the Intensive Care Unit and currently Local Principal Investigator for six multi-centre research trials.

Dr Ed Breeze

Dr Ed Breeze grew up in Nottingham, but made the journey down the M1 to study at Bart's and the London School of Medicine, where he qualified in 2003. His anaesthetic training was in the North-East London area. This training began at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford in 2004 as an SHO, where he would later return to work as a Consultant.

Dr Harikumar Sivakumar

Dr Harikumar Sivakumar (Hari) qualified in Medicine and gained his Anaesthetic Diploma and Masters in India. He has also completed the European Diploma in Anaesthesia and Intensive care. He joined the anaesthetic department at Broomfield Hospital in 2014 as a Specialty doctor. He was awarded the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration in Anaesthesia in June 2021 and was immediately appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthetics at Broomfield Hospital, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation trust.

Dr Michael Frost

Dr Michael Frost qualified from Dundee in July, 1994. He received his initial training on the Tayside Anaesthetic rotation in 1995, before taking up a Specialist Registrar post at King's College Hospital, London. Whilst on the South East Thames Anaesthetics training sceme he rotated through Tunbridge Wells, Eastbourne and East Grinstead before returning to King's College - finishing with 6 months working on the Liver Transplant Unit. After completion of specialist training in March 2003, he took up a Consultant post at the St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns at Broomfield Hospital. As a Consultant at Broomfield, Dr Frost provides anaesthetic services for both adults and children - including infants - on a regular basis; covering the full spectrum of plastic and burns surgery. He is particularly interested in intravenous anaesthetic techniques, regional anaesthesia and patient safety. To this end he is involved in risk management and runs human factors patient safety courses at Broomfield. When not working, Dr Frost enjoys outdoor sports and photography. He has 2 young children who occupy much of his free time!

Dr Russel Emamdee

Dr Emamdee has a keen interest in sedation techniques and Anaesthesia for surgical trauma. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and is an authority on Medical Statistics.

Dr Santosh Mehrotra

Dr Santosh Mehrotra qualified in medicine and gained his Anaesthetic degree from India. He did his advance training in Anaesthesia for Pediatric Cardiac surgery. He was appointed in 2014 as a Consultant in Anaesthetics at Broomfield Hospital and St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns, Chelmsford. He specialises in and is the lead clinician for Ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia (nerve block injections). He is the also the Clinical Governance and Audit lead for the Directorate of Anaesthetics & Theatres. Outside medicine, he enjoys playing and coaching cricket. He plays for a local league cricket club.
