Colin Spender

Colin Spender has been involved with training dogs for over 30 years, professionally for over twenty eight years. He is a Home office Qualified & accredited Police dog Instructor (H.Dip PDI). Colin retired from the police service in September 2015 after 30 years exemplary service, 26 years of working and training police dogs. He is an expert witness for Criminal and Civil court cases involving dog related issues, as such he is an accredited Dog Legislation Officer (DLO) and recognised by the courts as such, in particular to banned breed and dangerous dogs. Colin is a member of the British Institute of Professional Dog trainers (BIPDT) and has has now taken on the role as Director of Experts for the CFBA.

Jo Croft

  • Veterinary Nurse
Jo Croft MA qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1994 and was a former RVN working full-time in practice up until 2005. She spent the most exciting part of her career as the head nurse of a busy small animal practice for a period of five years and during this time specialised in surgical cases and rehabilitation. As a surgical nurse, Jo was also required to perform minor operations known as ‘Schedule 3' procedures alongside her other varied nursing duties. It was during this time she also studied for a surgical diploma, working alongside a team of vets all with a variety of specialist certificates she gained an enhanced level of knowledge surrounding animal form and function, as a result she often led a team of dedicated nurses treating some of the most distressed animals and helping them cope with pain and disability.

Ross McCarthy - Founder

Ross is a founder and specialist dog handler with the Dog Safety Education Executive (DogSEE) which is a successful, independent training organisation specialising in canine safety training. He regularly works with the London Borough of Waltham Forest and Camden Councils as a dog behaviour adviser and has worked with Kent Police Dog School as an independent assessor along with Lewisham and Hertfordshire Councils and many more.

Vicky Lawes

Job Titles:

Vicky works as a full-time Canine Behaviour Practitioner and Trainer. She is a full member of the Canine & Feline Behaviour Association, a Master Trainer with the Guild of Dog Trainers, a tutor and Vice Principle of the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training. Vicky has been working with dogs within various capacities for over ten years, to include kennel management, pet dog training, specialist dog training and behaviour modification.
