GUELPH ORTHOTICS - Key Persons

Chris graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry from the University of Salford, Manchester in 2000. He went on to obtain his MSc in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics from Staffordshire University in 2011. Before moving to Canada he worked in a variety of private podiatry clinics and then for the NHS where he worked as a specialist Podiatrist in orthopaedics and paediatrics, he maintained a deep interest in sports podiatry and has worked with a wide variety of athletes from elite football (soccer) players to weekend warriors. Since moving to Canada in 2011 he has worked in clinics across the GTA treating a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions providing high quality foot care, gait analysis and biomechanical assessments. ​​Guelph Orthotics is operated by James Christensen, a lifelong Guelph resident with six years experience as a certified and practicing Orthotist. James is a graduate of George Brown College (Clinical Methods in Orthotics and Prosthetics), The University of Guelph (Human Kinetics, B.Sc. Honours) and Centennial C.V.I. James is an award-winning researcher, having won the Clifford Chaderton Award for Canadian research in Prosthetics and Orthotics, an honour given out only once every two years by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) Canada and War Amps. He has also presented his research both nationally and internationally at the ISPO World Congress. James is immensely proud of his work helping others fulfill their potential, and the impact he is able to make on his patients and friends in the Guelph community. In his free time, James enjoys hiking with his wife and daughter, playing recreational soccer, bocce ball, and badminton.
