Ricardo Bernardo Sr.

Ricardo Bernardo Sr. founded South Florida Bakery nearly two decades ago. He emigrated from Cuba to Puerto Rico in 1960, where he developed a large manufacturing company of ice cream and dessert products, continuing a family tradition of two generations. Family vacations in Spain exposed him to his Spanish family's business of artisan breads and patisserie, and upon moving to South Florida in the 1980's, Ricardo, with daughter Lourdes, set out to establish a wholesale bakery with the best Cuban Bread and Cuban Pastries in the region. South Florida Bakery continues the commitment of his prior businesses of delivering products of great quality and value, now bringing pleasure to others with artisan bakery products and old family recipes of traditional sweets! Although the business is now run by son Ricardo Jr. and daughter Lourdes, Ricardo, age 87, still enjoys the daily aromas and flavors that fill his bakery, which bring back memories of his childhood and younger years and happy family times in his Caribbean homeland. What was first a dream has turned out to be a great story of achievement and success.
