Alan joined Grant Thornton in 2018 as a Director in our tax team and has over 25 years' experience working in practice, industry and the public sector. He has a focus on advising High Net Worth Individuals ("HNWIs") and family businesses in respect of income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and all aspects of succession planning. Alan has worked on some of the largest business disposals in Northern Ireland and has worked with clients from the stage of planning for a sale, right through to managing wealth succession issues to ensure that the wealth transfers down the generations in a practical and tax-efficient manner.

Andrew is an enterprising and commercially focused Chief Economist who joined Grant Thornton in 2019. Over 20 years, he has undertaken economic research and impact assignments across the globe and operates at the most senior levels of government and business to provide economic analysis, research and commentary focused on supporting growth.

Charlie trained with Grant Thornton in Belfast having joined the Firm in 1992.
Post qualification Charlie moved as a Senior Consultant to Capita Management Consultants in Belfast. In this role he undertook a range of corporate finance and consultancy assignments for a range of private and public sector clients. Assignments included M&A, due diligence, fundraising, grant support, economic appraisals and evaluations.
In May 2009 Charlie re-joined Grant Thornton in Belfast to build its corporate finance department. In the time since appointment Charlie has been involved in working with some of the major corporates in Northern Ireland as well as supporting a range of SME businesses with their growth and exit strategies. As well as undertaking M&A, due diligence and fundraising activity, Charlie has worked with a number of financial institutions conducting reviews and successfully implementing turnaround plans. Charlie has an established and active contact network of banks, private equity providers, solicitors and governmental representatives.
Between 2006 and 2011 Charlie was an active member of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce Council and acted as Chair of the Enterprise and Finance Sub Committee for 2 years. In this role he lobbied on behalf of the Chamber and its members in relation to key economic policies.
Charlie currently is running the Funding for Growth Programme in Northern Ireland on behalf of Intertrade Ireland and is involved as a Panel Member with the BVCA Awards process for the Northern Ireland region.

Jane is Head of Employer Solutions in Grant Thornton (NI) LLP. She is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and has over 20 years' experience in providing UK tax services to a wide range of businesses and individuals across the globe. Jane and her team provide a wide range of specialist tax support including Global Mobility Services and Cross Border Worker support, Equity Reward and Incentivisation, Employment Status, and Employer Compliance.
Jane provides expert Due Diligence support, assisting business with complex employment tax issues as part of the due diligence process, ensuring transactions complete where there are potential employment tax risks.
Jane has been involved in the development of IR35/Contractor "Employment Status Intelligence Platform" software which is a unique Grant Thornton tool developed to help clients make determination assessments and monitor their population of contractors and of-payroll workers and assists clients with the new April 2020 obligations
