ANDREA O'CONNOR - COO

Andrea has worked within the Health and Social Care field for 20 years and has experience working with both children and adults across hospitals, care homes and domiciliary care. Having started as a health care assistant, she has dedicated her career to improving the quality of life for individuals accessing health and social care services. Andrea joined the senior leadership team in September 2021 to lead the quality and compliance function; ensuring that high standards of care are met across all services. Andrea is particularly passionate about improving outcomes for those living with Dementia and is currently working towards a postgraduate qualification in person-centered Dementia Care.

ANGELA PAGE Regional Adult Nurse Read More I first joined Prestige in 2006 at the age of 55 when I retired from full time work. I left some time after and then joined Prestige again in 2016. In 2018 I took on the Role of Branch Nurse, which then became Regional Nurse. I love my Role. I mostly support My Care Colleagues, predominantly the ones who provide Complex Care. I have the pleasure of meeting our Clients and their Families in their own homes. My role is very varied, and no two days are the same. I have become Teacher, Assessor, Manager, Mentor and Guide. It is like all of my skills have been drawn together in this one ‘Meant to Be' Role. After 0ver 30 years as a Registered Nurse I have the opportunity to pass on some of my knowledge and Skills before age finally catches up with me. It is a Privilege to do what I do, and I consider myself to be very lucky. Going back to the start of my care career I commenced my Training at the age of 37 and in 1990 became a Registered General Nurse. In 1998 I gained my ‘City and Guilds Further and Adult Education Certificate,' and followed that a year later with ‘The Counselling and Psychology Central Awarding Body, Certificate in Counselling Skills'. I have undertaken many courses since then, and have recently completed the Parkinson's UK ‘Train the Trainer Course'. My first post after qualification was General Surgery, then in 1992, I moved to a Hospice as I wanted to provide Quality Person Centred Care for people at at the end of their life. In 2006 at the age of 55 I retired from Full Time work and it was then that I first joined Prestige. Due to other employment opportunities with Derby and Derbyshire Health Trusts I ended up leaving a while after. In 2009 I was approached by a Company called ‘Handle With Care' who provided Training for several Domiciliary Care Companies and Care Homes, and was asked to join their Team of Trainers and for a while I worked for them. In 2016, I decided to go back to direct patient care before I got too old to manage the physical requirements, and came back to Prestige. The Derby Branch were concentrating predominantly on Homecare with some Healthcare shifts in Nursing homes, so I worked mostly as a Health Care Assistant. I did some work with Whizz Kids, both as a Nurse and a Support worker, and loved every minute.

ASHLEY COVENTRY

My passion for caring for people can be traced back over 25 years, which I have worked in a variety of sectors within Care Services such as Children and Youth work and Adults with Learning Disabilities, as well as Care at Home, Mental Health, and Physical disabilities. I worked within Learning disabilities services for 12 years, where I advanced from a support worker to service manager and then had the opportunity to be involved in a start-up Care at Home business supporting around 100 individuals within the Angus area. I am committed to my own learning and development and have completed an SVQ4 in Leadership and Management and am working through my 2 nd SVQ4 Social Services and Healthcare. Having previously completed a PDA in Supervision and NC and HNC in Social Services and am also a mental health first aider. I am very passionate about providing an exceptional standard of care and enjoy working with my colleagues to achieve this.

CAROLYN JOHNSON

I qualified as a nurse in 1990 and spent the early part of my nursing career working in acute care eventually as a charge nurse in a vascular surgery ward. In 2001 I moved to higher education to become a lecturer in adult nursing eventually progressing to be Academic Programme Lead for adult nurse education. I was recognised for excellence in education by an award for student support and in 2023 became a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Throughout my career have remained committed to personal and professional development achieving a range of qualifications. I am a registered nurse, a registered nurse educator with a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching. I have a BSc in Nursing, Certificate in Management Studies, an MSc in Health Sciences, and in 2023 gained an MSc in Professional Practice. In 2023 I decided it was time for a change so moved back into healthcare. I initially spent some time working in care homes to widen my clinical experience then was delighted to accept the role of Regional Nurse (Scotland) with Prestige Nursing & Care. I am passionate about care at home; this passion has been influenced by my personal experience as a carer for my son who lives with complex care needs and my role as a trustee for Dundee Carers Centre.

I then worked full time in the hospitality industry as a manager for four years, but I really missed working in care, so I decided to go back to the care industry, and I have worked with Prestige Nursing & Care in Kirkcaldy since 2014. I started as a home carer but was keen to develop professionally and move into an operational role. Prestige believed in me and gave me the opportunity to take on the role of Field Care Supervisor, then later a Care Co-ordinator before being promoted to Field Care Manager and finally to Branch Manager of Prestige Kirkcaldy. Maria became Chingford branch manager in April 2021. I am delighted to now be overseeing the Stafforsshire and Blackpool branches. Sarah has worked across most settings including hospitals, residential care, nursing care and community, and supported living services. Sarah is passionate about empowering people to live independent lives and achieving their life goals. Striving to ensure that outstanding care is delivered to people we support and ensuring that there is a well-trained experienced workforce in place to meet the needs.

SUE HOLLIDAY
