Antonio Periñán Butrón

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineer by the University of Cadiz (2009) and M.Sc. in Product Desigh, University of Seville (2012). Performed his M.Sc. thesis for design and development of innovative assembly connectors at FADA-CATEC (2011). After that, Mr. Periñán has joined the M&P division with focus on design and fabrication for metal and thermoplastic fabrication processes by additive manufacturing technologies, especially for powder bed laser technologies for metals. Also, Mr. Periñán is deeply involved in all related steps of the technology within the manufacturing chain including design and optimization, post processes like thermal modification, surface post-treatments, machining, quality issues, etc. He has also knowledge in NDT methods like X-ray computed tomography and industrial radiography, between others.

Dr. Aníbal Ollero Baturone

Anibal Ollero is full Professor Head of GRVC at University Seville, and Scientific Manager of the Center for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC) also in Seville. He has been full professor at the Universities of Santiago in the Vigo Campus and Malaga (Spain). In all these institutions he has funded research groups and laboratories. He has been also researcher at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA) and LAAS-CNRS (Toulouse, France). He authored more than 670 publications, including 9 books and 180 papers in journals of the citation index and has been editor of 13 books. He has been supervisor or co-supervisor of 38 PhD Thesis that have received many awards. He lead more than 150 research projects, participating in more than 22 projects of the European Research Programmes being coordinator of 7 and associated or deputy coordinator of 3. In these projects he developed several world-wide innovations, particularly in aerial robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles, such as the aerial robotic manipulation, the fully autonomous landing on mobile platforms, the transportation of a load by means of several autonomous helicopters, and the cooperation of multiple unmanned aerial systems for detection and monitoring applications. He is currently the coordinator of the H2020-AEROARMS project with the participation of 10 universities, research centers and companies. In this project he has developed the first aerial robotic manipulators with multiple arms for applications involving physical interactions with the environment and particularly for contact inspection and maintenance in inaccessible sites. He is launching the GRIFFIN ERC-Advanced Grant with the objective of developing a new generation of aerial robots that will be able to glide, flapping the wings, perch and manipulate by maintaining the equilibrium. He has transferred technologies to 20 companies and has been awarded with 18 international research and innovation awards, including the recent Overall Information and Communication Technologies Innovation Radar Prize of the European Commission, and has been also elected between the three European innovators of the year being candidate to the European personalities of the year. He is currently co-chair of the "IEEE Technical Committee on Aerial Robotics and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles", coordinator of the "Aerial Robotics Topic Group" de euRobotics and member of the "Board of Directors" of euRobotics. He has been also founder and president of the Spanish Society for the Research and Development in Robotics (SEIDROB) until November 2017.

Dr. Francisco Javier Pérez Grau

International experience with research stays at Carnegie Mellon University. the Australian Centre for Field Robotics (Univ. Sydney) and the Robotics and Perception Group (Univ. Zurich & ETH). Since 2008 he is part of CATEC, working in projects related with avionics and unmanned aerial systems, associated with computer vision, perception technologies and autonomous systems.

Eduardo Ferrera Cabanillas

Eduardo Ferrera received his degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Seville in 2012 within the specialization on Telematics and Robotics. During his last degree year, he joined the Group of Robotics, Vision and Control (GRVC) at the University of Seville (Spain), where he developed his Master Thesis on multi-robot collision avoidance. After finishing his degree (end of 2012), he joined the Networked Embedded Systems Group (NES) at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany). There he focused research on multi-robot distributed coordination, exploration and collision avoidance, being co-author of 8 international peer-reviewed publications in those areas. While working at the NES group, he was in charge of the Robotic Laboratory, the Fabrication Laboratory, and collaborated in several projects of technological transfer. Between his activities, he acquired experience working with Industrialized Robotics, Aerial and Ground Robotic Platforms and Autonomous Cars. Similarly, he applied his skills areas like the Internet of Things, Cyber-physical Systems and the Industry 4.0. In 2019 he joined the Advanced Center for Aerospace Technology (CATEC) as head of the Automatic and Robotic division. There he leads the high quality technological research and transference that the center offers to the competitive aerospace industry.

Inmaculada Huertas Olivares

Inmaculada Huertas obtained a MSc. in Chemical Engineering at Huelva University (Spain) in 2003 and is conducting a Ph.D. thesis at the Vienna University of Technology (Vienna). She conducted a Master in Prevention of Labour Risks at Huelva University (Spain). From 2003 to 2007 she had a research position at the Austrian Research Centers GmbH Seibersdorf, Austria (currently AIT) in the Aerospace and Advanced Composites Division dealing with the development of Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) for heat shields. The priorities of those projects were the development of novel, improved composite materials using simplified, cheaper manufacturing methods, and the enhancement of new monitoring systems for the online control of component condition in service. She participated as well in several European projects like the Aurora Programme. She was laureate in 2007 with the ANDALUCÍA JOVEN 2007 Prize, in 2005 with the MERIDIANA Prize and in 2005 she was nominated to the ARC-AWARDS 2005 Wissenschaft (Austria). She is IRCA Certified Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2008 and IRCA Certified Lead Auditor ISO 14001. During 2007 she was Quality and Product Assurance Manager at IberEspacio S.A. (Madrid, Spain). From 2008 to September 2016 she was the Head of the Quality, Safety and Environment department at CATEC as well as assistant Professor at the Seville University (up to September 2014). Her main activities were developed from ground zero, implemented, registered and maintained: ISO9001 & EN 9100 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, UNE 166001 R&D Management System, Lead auditor, developed and maintained periodic Quality Management Plans and Reviews, act as a focal point for Customer and regulatory surveillance, reviews and corrective action, developed an environmental policy to support the Air Trafic Laboratory for Advanced unmanned Systems objectives, vision and mission, selected. From September 2016 she is the Corporate Resources Manager at CATEC.

Macarena Márquez Piñuela

Macarena Márquez has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Seville (2009) and she has obtained the PMP project management certificate (2015). In 2010 she started working in Abengoa as R&D Project Coordinator and Strategic Consulting for companies. In 2016, she began at CATEC as Senior Engineer in the Avionics and System Division, mainly in UAS/RPAS Project Management and New Opportunities search. Since October 2022, she has managed the ATLAS and ATLAS TACTICAL Center testing flight centres.

Paloma Vega Lluch

Chemical Engineer from Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros of Seville, specializes in managing R&D projects, both nationally and internationally, across various sectors (aerospace, biotechnology, energy, healthcare, among others). She also possesses expertise in various R&D funding instruments from national agencies (CDTI, AEI, etc.) and European bodies (European Commission, ESA, etc. Furthermore, she holds knowledge in fostering business growth through strategic connections, identifying opportunities, cultivating strong partnerships, and effectively promoting innovation. With several years of experience in the renewable energy sector, she has collaborated with organizations such as Abengoa, the Association for Research and Industrial Cooperation of Andalusia (AICIA), and the National Renewable Energy Center Since 2017, Paloma has been employed at FADA-CATEC, initially starting in the Automation and Robotics Unit. She currently serves as the head of Alliances, Customers and Partners Development Unit, driving the expansion and strengthening of strategic relationships in the R&D domain.
