Alan Jerry

Alan believes that Architecture provides a unique service to the client that is of both art and science. He believes designs should create an environment that enriches lives and incites positivity, curiosity, purpose, and motivation. When working with clients and the project team, Alan aims to focus on implementing designs and building systems that produce sustainable and efficient solutions. He takes great pleasure in working on projects that will help stimulate and advance the surrounding community. Alan has gained unique practice in the areas of adaptive re-use and facility maintenance. He has been able to translate this knowledge throughout varied architectural experiences ranging from the programming and design phases through owner occupation. Alan holds experience in a variety of building types such as K-12 educational, religious assembly, civic, commercial office, retail, medical office, and multi-family residential. Alan received his Master of Architecture from Prairie View A&M University. He also holds both a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science from Prairie View A&M University. He is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Texas Society of Architects. Outside of the office, Alan loves to read and learn more about history, cook for family and friends, and develop his craft at playing the piano. He is an advocate for maintaining human vitality. To keep this balance, Alan enjoys traveling, visiting amusement parks, attending live shows, and staying active in sports activities.

Bao Tran

has significant experience with both higher and K-12 education. He has experience with both new schools and renovations and has worked closely with multiple K-12 districts throughout Texas. Bao is well-versed in the e-builder system as well as K-12 protocols for review and approval. Bao received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston. When Bao is not at work, he likes to spend most of his time with friends and family. He enjoys watching and playing basketball, kickboxing, and just relaxing

Ben Sauceda

Ben has a real passion for design that fosters and creates a sense of community. The pandemic reinforced for him how important it is for the built environment to address bringing people together in safe nurturing environments. Educational building settings provide some of the greatest opportunities to make this a reality. While Ben has amassed a depth of experience in varying project types over his career, he has a special interest in places that are true community builders. He welcomes and encourages feedback from the communities he works in, especially K-12 education. As a Project Manager, Ben serves as the primary contact and is involved through all phases of the project. He acts as the project implementer - responsible for creating and distributing all necessary information to the project design team and ensuring goals are met. Ben received a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University. Ben is a registered architect in the state of Texas. He is also a Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) and LEED Green Associate. Ben is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Texas Society of Architects, and the U.S. Green Building Council.

Charles Pelini

While his experience spans varying project types, Charles has a specific interest in higher education facilities and how collaborative collegiate environments impact learning. He is intrigued by not only learning spaces but learning in general - he has a focus in evidence-based design and letting research help guide design decisions. Charles has been involved in all phases of a project, from inception through to final completion. His varied experience encompasses a variety of project types, spanning residential, retail, healthcare, educational, and civic work. He has a special focus on Higher Education Facilities, particularly learning environments, laboratories, and sports facilities. Charles is also one of the office leaders in Exterior Enclosure Design, helping create high-performance and resilient building envelopes. Charles received his Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a registered architect in the state of Texas and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Chris Martin

Always on the cutting edge, Chris is always on the pulse of new technology. He has become the office's go-to for Virtual Reality (VR) setup and training. His knowledge in VR has helped realize solutions for both architects, stakeholders, and end-users. Chris has experience working with public agencies, school districts, private developers, and the aerospace industry. Chris received a Master of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-arc). He gained his Bachelor of Architecture from Texas Tech University. He is a registered architect in the state of Texas. Architecture and design are integral parts of Chris's life but when he is not in the office, he can be found spending time with his family. Chris is an Eagle Scout and a lifelong member of Boy Scouts of America. He enjoys camping and fishing and being in nature.

Christina Fierro

Christina finds architecture inspiring because when design is done right, a space can be transformed to capture your imagination and lift your spirits. She believes the best designed spaces are functional, inspiring, and inviting. With her combined architectural education and hands-on project coordination, Christina ensure projects run smoothly from beginning to end. Originally educated as an architect, Christina also has experience in Logistics, Sales, Data Entry, and Office Administration fields of work. Christina received a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University. As a student, she studied Architecture in the inaugural study abroad program in Barcelona, Spain. In her free time, Christina enjoys watching football with family, doing puzzles of all kinds, and swimming.

Daniel M. Kornberg

As a founding principal and HarrisonKornberg's Director of Design, Daniel establishes the firm's design philosophy, and oversees design direction on all projects. He leads project teams through schematic design and design development, and remains involved through construction to ensure implementation and quality. Daniel has been responsible for the design and delivery of the firm's most complex projects including buildings for higher education, K-12, aviation, civic, cultural, religious assembly, healthcare, and workplace. He is one of the firm's sustainability advisors, incorporating innovative green design strategies and working through the certification process on LEED projects. Daniel first encountered Capital A - Architecture during a semester abroad, touring the streets of Florence Italy with an inspiring professor of architectural history. Upon returning stateside Daniel immersed himself in classes about architecture, and spent free time teaching himself to draw. After achieving his M.Arch (and meeting his future wife in graduate school), Daniel apprenticed at several noted Houston firms before launching a successful solo practice in 1998. In 2003, Daniel co-founded HarrisonKornberg Architects with James Harrison. Throughout his career, Daniel has been intensely interested in how the design of built environments can enhance the ways we work, learn, recreate and participate in civic life. Daniel is particularly focused on the relationships between space, structure, materials and natural light, and how these fundamental design elements shape our engagement with the world. Architectural practice is a team endeavor, and Daniel welcomes collaboration and input from all corners. The teams he leads share ideas, celebrate differences and challenge each other to create great architecture for a better world. Daniel received a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a University Fellow. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, with a major in Philosophy. Daniel is a registered architect in the State of Texas. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the US Green Building Council and is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). Daniel grew up in Winnipeg, Canada, and has lived and raised a family in Houston, Texas since 1990. Daniel is an avid traveler and travel photographer who equally enjoys visiting wild spaces and urban environments. Daniel has previously served as a Chairman of the Lone Star College Foundation Gala and as a Project Row Houses board member.

Esteban Robles

Esteban is passionate about advocating towards sustainable and resilient design. This interest motivates him to learn and be informed in sustainable design, an area that he believes is the future of the architecture industry. Esteban loves solving a puzzle and working within the schematic design (SD) and design development sets (DD) phases of projects. His collection of work includes aviation, both K-12 and higher education, and healthcare facilities. His role in these projects has included an emphasis in early design development as well construction documentation, BIM management, and virtual reality (VR) coordination and visualization. Esteban received both his Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from Texas Tech University. He also holds a certificate in Urban and Community Design. Esteban enjoys playing the piano and experimenting with different musical instruments. He is an avid listener to movie soundtracks and composers. Esteban also likes reading, playing video games, and designing and building his own furniture. Esteban is an animal lover, when he is not spending time with his two cats and two dogs, he is passionate about volunteering in the Wildlife Center of Texas helping with wildlife rehabilitation.

Hunter Bodiford

Hunter's love of architecture stems from solving problems and working to enhance the user experience in order to create a sense of place. He provides a focus on energy efficiency, material integration, constructibility, and accessibility in every project. Hunter thrives when working in a collaborative environment. In these types of environments, he has provided architectural programming, design, production of construction documents, permitting services and construction administration to a variety of projects. Hunter has a depth of experience in retail and commercial work, including multifamily housing and restaurants. He is eager to gain experience in new project types working closely with mentor architects. Hunter received a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Construction Management from the University of Houston. He is a member of the United States Green Building Council - Texas Chapter.

James B. Harrison - Founder

As Co-founder and Principal of HarrisonKornberg, James uses his inner sense of purpose and community service to guide him as he strives "to create an environment that is going to have a positive effect on the world that we live in." Working hand-in-hand with partner Daniel Kornberg, James takes a special interest in the business development side of the business. He loves working with stakeholders and the design team at large to create buildings that best serve their communities. James oversees the development of project schedules, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration. He also supervises in-house technical staff and negotiates contracts with current and prospective clients. He has been actively involved in the delivery of commercial and institutional buildings, airports and aviation facilities, K-12 education, higher education, public assembly and religious projects. As a Houston native, James grew up experiencing the works of many great architects in his hometown. However, it was the work of one architect in particular that influenced his decision to pursue architecture as a career - John S. Chase. Chase was the first Black architect to receive an architecture license in the state of Texas, started the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), and became a mentor to James as he pursued his dream of architecture. Practicing since 1991, James built a career that took him through Chicago, Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Raleigh. He eventually returned to Houston and took a position with the man who used to look at his high school sketches: John Chase. A proponent of community engagement, James has served on the City of Houston's Buildings and Standards Commission, Land Assemblage Redevelopment Authority and the Downtown Redevelopment Authority/ TIRZ Board #3. An advocate for access to higher education, he believes in paying it forward. This commitment is represented in his volunteerism and service on the Lone Star College Foundation Board, Carnegie Mellon Alumni Association Board and the Carnegie Mellon University Admissions Council (10 Years). James Harrison received his Bachelor of Architecture from Hampton University and Master of Science in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University. He is licensed to practice in the states of Texas, North Carolina, Louisiana, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Washington. He is member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and certified through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). When James isn't at the office, or on a call, you can almost always find him sailing Galveston Bay. Certified through the American Sailing Association (ASA) he has successfully completed four levels of sailing proficiency, ASA 101 Basic Keel Boat, 103 Basic Coastal Cruising, 104 Bareboat Cruising and 105 Coastal Navigation certifications. He also enjoys skiing, physical fitness and cheering on the Houston Rockets. James is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. He is married to Consuella Harrison and has two children, Avery Elise and O'Neal Stafford James Harrison.

Jasper Gregory

Jasper's (she/they) talents began as a young Hispanic artist attending the Glassell School of Art and acceptance into the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA). At HSPVA, she expanded her skills in the visual arts of illustration and painting. Her interests led her to further pursue an artistic education by studying architecture. Jasper is an architectural designer and multidisciplinary artist who has experience interning for large and small architecture firms based in Los Angeles, California, and Houston, Texas. Her internships exposed her to a wide variety of projects at a multitude of scales. Projects ranged from master plan circulation design, re-imagining a public transit hub, higher education façade designs, promotional animations and videography, and garment designs. Jasper received her Master of Architecture from The Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI Arc). She received her Bachelor of Environmental Design and an Art Minor from Texas A&M University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. You can always find Jasper expressing herself through experimental makeup and fashion. While not practicing architecture, she works as an artist continuing her exploration in performative film, photography, painting, sculpture, digital collage, and set design.

Kayli Johnson

Kayli's body of work includes k-12 education, higher education, and aviation projects. Her role in these projects has involved completing and coordinating drawings with owners and consultants. She supports the overall effort of the team. She is responsible for supervising the preparation of architectural plans and coordination with the engineering and construction trades. Kayli received a Master of Architecture from the University of Houston. She received her Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University. She is a registered architect in the state of Texas. Kayli spends her free time attending concerts, playing with her puppy, Bette Davis, and cheering on her Fightin' Texas Aggies. Kayli enjoys staying fit by playing soccer and paddleboarding.

Kelsey Padgett - CMO

Kelsey Padgett has served as the Director of Marketing for HarrisonKornberg Architects since 2014. Working with HarrisonKornberg has allowed her to apply her marketing knowledge and skills in an industry that she has always found fascinating. She recognized a love for design and architecture from a young age, rearranging and decorating any space that her parents would allow. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, specializing in Public Relations and Advertising. Kelsey is an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and the UNC Alumni Association. She also co-manages the firm's Office Culture Team, organizing firm participation in industry events, sports leagues, team-building and community service activities. Kelsey loves to travel and is a passionate sports fan. Her favorite trip to date was to Tanzania where she and her husband successfully climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro before embarking on a safari and getting up close and personal with some of Africa's big cats! Some of her favorite activities include skiing out West, tailgating during football season, cheering on her Tar Heels, and relaxing at the beach.

Kristopher McGraw

Kristopher believes architecture is about serving our clients and the community while striving to be sensitive to the environment and create a lasting experience. The combination of these values creates state-of-the-art buildings that benefit both the community and the environment. Kristopher manages the firm's North Texas portfolio. A project manager to his core, Kristopher is interested in how people work. While he has touched every project type and sector HarrisonKornberg has worked in, he has a peaked interest in higher education and workplace design. Kristopher has a strength in developing management tools to efficiently run projects. The processes he develops and actively refines ensure projects stay on track by identifying potential schedule delays before they occur. His procedures and protocols track accountability by way of action items and monitors project activities through check lists and decision logs. Kristopher graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Architecture. Kristopher enjoys cooking, reading, horology, art, and spending time with family.

Mark Hall

Mark enjoys exploring the reasoning behind projects and working directly with stakeholders during programming and design. He has an affinity for balancing different requirements from multiple stakeholders to form unique, collaborative visions for the projects he designs. Mark is not one to shy away from a challenge and loves technically complex projects. His interest in complex projects has led him to gain expertise in the fields of research and development, energy, higher education, aerospace and aviation. His responsibilities in these projects include managing the architectural team, architectural programming, design leadership, construction documents, and construction administration on many projects. Mark received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston. He is a registered architect and registered interior designer in the state of Texas. Mark is a member of the AIA and Texas Society of Architects. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). Mark's interests are as varied as his work experience, as he enjoys being in the great outdoors, hiking, canoeing and fly fishing; riding motorcycles; restoring old houses; listening to music, from classical to hip hop; and designing craft cocktails.

Meredith Hinshaw

Nicholas Weiss

Starting out as an artist rather than in architecture, Nicholas has always felt that the design of the built environment can convey a deeper message as well as create a useful and beautiful space. He has an interest in planning concepts, three-dimensional designs, and how to integrate building systems into the design. Nicholas enjoys working on projects from the ground up - from initial programming to construction. This has led him to gain experience in new construction projects, as well as renovation experience. Nicholas has worked in a variety of sectors, but has a particular interest in higher education and civic projects with a focus on utilizing tilt-wall construction. Nicholas received a Master of Architecture from Rice University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. When he's not in the office, Nicholas likes to draw, paint, play guitar, and watch B-movies with friends. His favorite band is the Beatles.

Rey Lastimosa

Due to his interest in building a collaborative work environment, many of these projects have involved work spaces. Throughout his career, Rey has been actively engaged in all phases of building projects, including design, development, documentation, coordination and contract administration. He has successfully delivered projects for both private and public clients and in a variety of building types, including single and multi-family residential, institutional, civic, industrial, corporate, and healthcare. Rey received a Master of Architecture from the University of Kansas. He is a registered architect in the state of Texas. He has also been certified through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

Samantha Peters

Shreya Patel

Shreya believes that she can learn through her mentors as well as her mentees. Shreya holds the belief that design can come from anywhere - the design team, consultants, clients, or the end-user. She is passionate about having equality at the table to allow for the design and building to flourish. Shreya received her Master of Architecture with a concentration in Urban Planning from the University of Houston. She received both a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in French from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Shreya is a licensed architect in the state of Texas. Shreya is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has become certified through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). She also holds a LEED AP BD+C certification. When Shreya is not busy practicing, admiring, photographing, or sketching architecture, you can find her taking adventures to the library and finding new children's books' authors and illustrators that she can enjoy with her two young kids. She enjoys seeing her kids read the same books as she did as a child and rereading those books as an adult.

Tarika Narwani

Tarika grew up in Ahmedabad, India; a UNESCO World Heritage City, that has a good blend of ancient and contemporary architecture by Le Corbusier, Louis Kahn, B.V. Doshi, Charles Correa and many others. Being surrounded by beautiful and historic builds inspired her to study architecture. During her undergraduate studies, Tarika got the opportunity to study at ETH Zurich under the Student Exchange Program where she learned about new methods of designing and building using robots. Upon graduating, she worked on varied small scale to large scale projects like residences, commercial office spaces, industrial buildings, multifamily luxury residences and sports stadiums in India and abroad. Tarika received her Master of Science in Architecture from the University of Houston. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from CEPT University in Ahmedabad, India; she graduated with an Excellence Award. Tarika loves traveling, seeing new places, and living her passion for photography. She has lived in three different continents and traveled across eleven countries so far. She loves eating her way around the world and working through every recipe in the family cookbook!

Victoria Rivera
