Founded in 2012 as an independent foundation by NWO and SURF, the Netherlands eScience Center is the national centre with the digital skills to create innovative software solutions in academic research... The Netherlands eScience Center is the national center for the development and application of research software. Our software and tools enhance the use of digital methods in academic research, empowering researchers across all disciplines... We award research projects based on calls for proposals, and we train researchers in the use of research software. Our contribution is primarily in-kind. We offer our expertise in the form of research software engineers (RSEs), the technology specialists with expert digital skills who work with us at the Center.
