RUNCORN LINNETS FC

We are members of the Pitching In Northern Premier League and play in Division One West, reaching the play-off final in 2021-22 season. We had secured our place in the NPL for the 2018-19 campaign after promotion as Premier Division champions of the Hallmark Security League (North West Counties Football League). We are a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and were formed in the 2006 off-season by the fans of the now defunct Runcorn AFC (which was playing under the name "Runcorn FC Halton"). Although technically a "new" club, Runcorn Linnets were given special dispensation by the FA to be treated as a reformed version of Runcorn AFC. The predecessor club had at that time simply become dormant - choosing not to field a team, as opposed to ceasing to exist as a legal entity, although Runcorn Association Football Club Limited has since been dissolved. Runcorn Linnets were awarded FA Charter Standard in October 2011.
