Andrew Laurenson

Expertise Andrew specialises in criminal, civil, employment and HSE litigation. He has appeared in 200 or so District and High Court jury trials acting for both the Crown and the defence in respect of criminal and civil matters. He has also appeared in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal on numerous occasions. Andrew regularly appears in the Employment Relations Authority for both mediations and investigations. Over the last 15 years he has developed an extensive employment law and HSE practice and act for a number of large corporate clients providing advice on issues such as human resource needs, restructuring and disciplinary issues. He also leads a number of seminars on employment related issues throughout Taranaki. He has also appeared in other jurisdictions including the Employment Court, Refugee Status Appeal Authority, Human Rights Review Tribunal, the Motor Vehicle Dealers Licensing Board and the Environment Court.

Sarah is an accredited RMA hearings commissioner and is a Ministerial-appointed Freshwater Commissioner (under the Office of the Chief Freshwater Commissioner). Sarah is a Trustee of the Native Forest Restoration Trust, a trust that identifies indigenous habitats that are under threat and acquires land to protect it in perpetuity. She is a member of the NZ Bar Association and the Resource Management Law Association, of which she is the Taranaki Branch's past president.
