Chang Lan is a software engineer at Google DeepMind (formerly the Google Brain team), where he works on large-scale systems for foundation models. Prior to Google, he worked at ByteDance as a research scientist. He received a Ph.D from UC Berkeley (2018) and a bachelor's degree from Tsinghua (2013) in computer science.
