Caroline Bishop

Caroline worked in the NHS for 20 years before joining Fonthill Care. In her most recent post she was responsible for the provision of all district nursing across St Albans, Hertfordshire. Caroline's role involved managing community matrons, specialist palliative care nurses, community nurses and therapists dealing with complex health issues in the local community. Caroline began her NHS career by training as a registered adult nurse at Preston University in 1995. She later completed a Post Graduate Degree in District Nursing at London South Bank and has held a number of senior clinical and managerial posts in various specialities.

Claire Honeywell Alton

Job Titles:
  • Dietitian
Claire graduated from King's College London with a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics (HCPC Registered). She trained at Guy's and St Thomas' and the Royal Free, gaining clinical experience in nutrition support, elderly care, adult food allergy, gastroenterology, food intolerance's, diabetes, enteral feeding and cancer. Claire has worked at Fonthill since 2015 and provides tailored nutritional advice to promote health, prevent disease and maintain quality of life.

Dr Louisa Waites

Job Titles:
  • Resident GP
Our nurses communicate daily with Dr Waites in order to diagnose and treat both acute and chronic health concerns. This proactive approach helps to maintain residents' well-being and allow early detection of illnesses that may lead to unnecessary hospital admissions if treatment were delayed. Medication reviews, health assessments and psychological support are regularly combined to manage both physical and mental long term conditions, adapting care to the individual as change occurs. Dr Waites' particular passion and interest is in palliative and end of life care. The Fonthill House Care Home multidisciplinary team work closely together to provide compassionate & holistic care as people approach this phase in what can be an uncertain time for residents and families.

Mei McIvor

Job Titles:
  • Physiotherapist
Mei graduated with a first class honours degree in physiotherapy in 2007. She has worked extensively in the NHS with particular experience in elderly care, orthopaedic and respiratory conditions. Mei's main focus at Fonthill House, St Albans is to help maintain each resident's optimum physical function and advise care staff on how best to achieve this.

Olivia Kempster

Olivia graduated from Bucks New University with a first class honours degree. She worked in care for five years prior to qualifying as a nurse, working in hospitals and community settings, specialising in elderly care, learning disabilities and neurological rehabilitation. Olivia trained as a nurse gaining experience at the Royal Liverpool Hospital in A&E and acute trauma, before working as a staff nurse on the Acute medial assessment units and A&E at Watford General Hospital.
