Alexandria Martinson

Anne Setters

Anne joined GET as a volunteer in January 2020 and runs an IT workshop for GET clients helping them to learn useful skills for the workplace. After returning to work after having her family, she re-trained as a lecturer and worked for more than 20 years at the Guernsey College of Further Education as a lecturer in Business Administration. Anne was the course tutor for people returning to work following a career break or long-term unemployment. She taught a wide variety of subjects including IT, shorthand, bookkeeping and office skills. Anne has a degree in psychology, a certificate in education and a diploma in counselling. Anne is a keen, but slow, runner and enjoys knitting, reading and baking in her spare time. She has recently joined the Vale Douzaine and is looking forward to her new role.

Ben Martinson

Ben joined the team in September 2013 as an Employment Support Officer and over the last ten plus years has worked in a variety of roles working with a caseload of job seekers, supervising Employment Support Officers and has produced and delivered training for new staff and disability awareness training for employers. In June 2024 he was appointed to the Supported Employment Manager role and oversees the job seeker experience from referral to employment using his experience of delivering supported employment as a practitioner over the last decade. He used to volunteer for Les Naftiaux Youth and Community Centre working with children and adults. Ben has experience working with disabled people, particularly autistic people through his personal life. Prior to this, Ben has worked in retail and labouring roles as well as in hard and soft landscaping. Ben has been trained on using Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI) techniques. He achieved the Level 3 Certificate for Supported Employment Practitioners, a Level 3 Leadership and Management Diploma and a Level 1 qualification in British Sign language. Ben is a motorcyclist and enjoys performing arts, DIY, cooking and drawing.

Charlotte Horsepool

Charlotte joined the team in September 2021 as an Employment Support Officer. Prior to starting at GET Charlotte worked at Betway for over 3 years. Starting out in Reception on a temporary contract, she was given more and more HR tasks before being offered a permanent role as a HR Administrator which soon developed into the role of HR Advisor. However, Charlotte yearned for something more and wanted to use her skills to help people, which led her to Guernsey Employment Trust. Charlotte is a natural people person who enjoys getting to know individuals and is notorious for keeping herself busy. She is always keen to get involved in the community, previously holding the post of President of the Leo Club of Guernsey, organising charity events and leading a team of like-minded volunteers. Charlotte now volunteers with Meals on Wheels and Health Connections Voluntary Transport. In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and makes stained glass as her creative outlet.

Claire Smith

Claire joined the team at Guernsey Employment Trust in September 2022. Claire brings with her valuable people skills, a proactive nature and a passion for helping people. She previously worked as an Activities Co-Ordinator at Blanchelande Park Nursing home and at the Youth Commission undertaking outreach work and running youth sessions. Prior to this Claire has a varied career history including hospitality, customer service and sales, bringing an understanding of different sectors. Claire's passion and drive to make a difference has led her to GET. She is looking forward to working with clients and employers alike to support building a diverse and inclusive community, and creating employment opportunities for our clients. She is particularly looking forward to helping support our clients with their well-being and independence. In her spare time Claire enjoys making the most of the island's outdoor scenery when weather permits, and if it doesn't, she always enjoys socialising with family and friends.

Elaine Strappini

Elaine joined Guernsey Employment Trust (GET) in October 2018, as Employment Development Manager. Her role is to liaise with employers on the island to help facilitate good practice in relation to recruiting, employing and retaining employees with disabilities. Elaine will be developing the advisory service for employers as well as promoting good practice to help employers prepare for the future equality legislation. Elaine completed a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2000 and started her career in Scotland rotating round different hospital departments. She soon realised her heart belonged in rehabilitation; she loved working within a team providing intensive therapy and support for people with complex disabilities and their families. She jumped at the chance to move to Guernsey in 2004 for a clinical lead role within their Stroke Rehabilitation team, and welcomed the opportunity to further develop her communication and leadership skills. Before joining the team at GET, Elaine worked as a self-employed physiotherapist for 4 years, gaining valuable experience of marketing and developing a small business. In her spare time Elaine loves spending time with family, catching up with friends and spending time outdoors.

Ignatius Uzoanya

Ignatius joined Guernsey Employment Trust (GET) in August, 2024 as an Employment Support Officer Before joining GET Ignatius worked with Acceleration Therapy (Lagos, Nigeria) where he supported high school teens who are neurodiverse and have learning difficulties. He is a passionate educator with over 8 years teaching experience facilitating learning and development of young people. He holds an Associate Degree in Education and has obtained various certificates in the education and training sector. Ignatius' love for training, developing and supporting people to achieve a meaningful and fulfilled life is the reason he is here at GET. Ignatius loves family life. He agrees to the concept of family being the bedrock of a society. For him, friends are treated as family. Spending time with family is therapeutic. He is a football fan with great love for "The Guns".

Leo Thomas

Leo joined the Guernsey Employment Trust in January 2025, bringing a diverse background to his new role. He has most recently worked in dementia care and mental health within the healthcare sector, where he developed valuable nursing and care skills. Leo is eager to apply these skills to support individuals with disabilities in their transition to employment. In addition to his healthcare experience, Leo has extensive knowledge from his time working in emergency service control centres both in Guernsey and the UK. He aims to leverage the skills gained in these environments to make a positive impact at the Guernsey Employment Trust. Leo also has a strong foundation in retail and customer service, further enhancing his ability to connect with people in a variety of settings. Outside of work, Leo is passionate about wildlife and animals. He enjoys walking his West Highland Terrier, Barnaby, and spending time with his two cats, Luna and Jess. In his spare time, Leo loves cycling, cliff walking, travelling, building with Lego, and gardening. A fan of sci-fi, he is especially fond of Star Trek.

Lizzie Singer

Lizzie joined the team at Guernsey Employment Trust in January 2025 as an Employment Support Officer. Previously, Lizzie worked as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) at The Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney, where she provided valuable support to students in schools, helping them navigate mental health challenges. With a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Bath and a postgraduate diploma as an EMHP from Southampton, Lizzie is well-equipped with both academic knowledge and hands-on experience in supporting people with their wellbeing. Outside of work, Lizzie is passionate about strongman training, enjoys reading books by authors such as Stephen King and Patricia Gibney, and can often be found juggling multiple and varied TV series. Driven by a passion for helping others, Lizzie takes great pride in building meaningful connections with people and making a positive impact on their lives.

Nikki Ioannou-Droushiotis - CEO

Nikki was the former Manager of Guernsey Employment Trust before taking on the role of Chief Executive in January 2018. Nikki has worked for the service in its current and previous format since 2008. She has been fundamental in shaping and developing the GET mission and service since its transition from the States of Guernsey to the Third Sector. Her role is to ensure that disabled people get a quality supported employment service and that the service continues to develop to meet the needs of disabled islanders. She takes great pride in the fact that the team work hard to provide the right types of support to both employers and individuals with barriers to employment. Nikki has worked with disabled people since her school days as she volunteered at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school as well as assisting a Young Enterprise team of individuals with a learning disability. While studying for her degree in Psychology at Exeter University, she volunteered at Headway in Devon and ran a youth project for deprived 12-16 year olds. After graduating university she was employed as a home tutor for an autistic child and began work at a London supported employment agency in 2006. Nikki has a Diploma and Foundation in Supported Employment, an NVQ 3 in Advice and Guidance and she has been trained on using Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI) techniques. She also has a Diploma in First Line Management, accredited by the Chartered Management Institute, and a Diploma in Health Training. As a mum to two young children, Nikki enjoys spending time with her family. If she has any time left after school pick-ups, children's birthday parties and after-school clubs, she enjoys reading, walking and drinking a glass of red wine with a Netflix boxset!

Poppy Byrom

Poppy joined the team in July 2019 as an Employment Support Officer. Poppy's background is in recruitment, with over 10 years' of experience in this field. She is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and has a diverse skill set to offer in finding people suitable employment. In her previous role, Poppy worked in a small team specialising in finding people temporary and contract work. Having worked in recruitment, Poppy understands the importance of relationship building and hopes to bring her knowledge of the finance industry to her role. Poppy enjoys really getting to know her clients, and equally the employer; what they do, how they operate and the general culture of the workplace to ensure that the parties are well suited. She believes her focus, care and positivity highlight her desire to help people find successful employment. In her spare time, Poppy enjoys being outdoors, and embracing island life. She loves walking with her French Bulldog, Bruce, and is a keen gym goer and spinner. She also enjoys drawing and painting, when she can!

Rebecca Mauger

Rebecca joined Guernsey Employment Trust (GET) in the role of Employment Support Officer in 2018. Locally born and educated, she studied at the University of Brighton for three years before obtaining a degree in English Literature. She then took advantage of being young and free and travelled to various countries, including Moldova where she volunteered at an orphanage helping disabled children and at a kennels for street dogs in Thailand. Rebecca returned to Guernsey in 2014 where she began working in Customer Services at a finance centre and was later promoted to a marketing role, where she gained a Certificate in Professional Marketing. Three years there taught her new disciplines but she yearned for a change in direction and felt that dealing with people rather than numbers would be a better outlet for her talents. Rebecca has successfully completed the MOE Coaching Course to become a certified coach. Additionally, she has earned a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies. Her training also includes various courses in autism, trauma, safeguarding, and effective communication. Outside of work, Becky is involved in local athletics, participating in various running events. Her dedication culminated in the completion of both the Paris and Brighton Marathons, she has also conquered the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Rebecca Oswin

Rick Robinson

Rick joined the team at GET in May 2019 after working in areas as diverse as the Printing industry, Fulfilment, Complaints and Data Protection. During which time he gained invaluable people skills through training apprentices, interviewing and selecting new staff for the teams that he managed. His five years in Complaints shaped an understanding of human nature and highlighted the value of effective communication. Rick is now combining his skills and experience in helping to support his clients in employment as well as by searching, preparing, and supporting those starting their journey into the workplace. Rick went back to education and completed an OU degree in English Literature and enjoys a good book and likes to stay active by running half-marathons and playing in goal at 5aside... badly.

Sarah Repton

Sarah joined the team in September 2023 as an Employment Support Officer. She brought with her many years of experience as a health and social care lecturer, having taught in further education for over 20 years. Before that she worked in a wide range of childcare settings. Her qualifications include a Degree B.A (Hons.) in Professional Studies: Early Childhood Studies from the University of Manchester and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Adult, Higher and Further Education. Sarah is dedicated to promoting equality and diversity, recognising that every person should have positive opportunities in employment. She strongly believes in the benefits of a diverse workplace and the positive contribution each individual can bring to the workforce. Sarah hopes to bring her skills of working with individuals to get to know clients' particular strengths and interests, to support them to find and maintain meaningful employment. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys gardening, describing herself as an enthusiastic beginner. Reading is one of her passions, and she enjoys a wide range of genres and really doesn't mind if it's a paperback, kindle or audio book. Sarah is also is an active member of Soroptimist International of Guernsey, which is part of a worldwide organisation of women. The group take part in several projects supporting women and girls locally and internationally.

Stephen Norman

Stephen is joining the team as a volunteer Office Assistant. He has Autism and a Learning Disability. He will be supported in his position by the Autism Outreach Team. Stephen is a people person who enjoys meeting new people and having a conversation, always happy to pass the time of day. He has some varied jobs that he does during the week, some paid and some voluntary. Recycling, cleaning a church, collecting food for GSPCA and working in a charity shop. In his relaxation time Stephen enjoys watching tv, walking the family dogs, shopping and having coffee at a variety of cafes.

Tamsin Lilley

Tamsin joined Guernsey Employment Trust in September 2018 and is well suited to the role of Business Support Officer after working in administration for over 10 years, including most recently, 5 years within Adult Mental Health. Tamsin's previous roles have included: Environmental Land Management Officer, Healthcare Information Analyst, Administration Manager and, one of her favourites, Office Manager for the charity, Mines Awareness Trust (MAT). It was whilst working for MAT that Tamsin had the opportunity to spend time in Kosovo to see first-hand the dangerous work carried out by deminers clearing live unexploded ordinance (by hand) from otherwise beautifully scenic mountain areas. Tamsin holds a Master's degree in Environmental Management and initially worked in this field when she returned to Guernsey. She was one of the founding members of the Guernsey Conservation Volunteers in 1997, carrying out practical conservation and renovation work in many of our nature reserves and green areas around the islands. After starting a family Tamsin decided to pursue part-time work, putting her interest in people and analytical and organisational skills to good use in healthcare and administration. Tamsin is still a committed environmentalist, with a lifelong passion for the sea especially but loves all other aspects of the great outdoors and nature. When not at work, you can often spot Tamsin in the sea, swimming, kayaking and boogieboarding or out walking around the coastal and cliff paths accompanied by her lively cocker spaniels, Harvey and Daisy.

Tania Gouveia

Tania joined the Guernsey Employment Trust team as an Employment Support Officer in April 2018. Before joining GET Tania worked in HR, she completed her CIPD Foundation Level 3 Certificate in Human Resources Practice (CHRP) in 2015. Tania has extensive experience working in retail managerial roles both in Guernsey and prior to this for 8 years in London managing a team of up to 30 people. Tania's experience in HR and Managerial roles will bring an invaluable knowledge to the Supported Employment team. She is really looking forward to using her skills and understanding of the challenges of recruitment to support job seekers in finding employment. Tania has volunteered with Action for Children in Guernsey, where she helped a number of students with interview skills and job searching. Outside of work Tania loves spending time with family and friends. She loves good healthy food, and has an interest in yoga, spirituality and walking. She also enjoys reading when she finds the time.

William Roberts

William joined the team in October 2024 as an Employment Support Officer. In his first job, William worked as an Adult Disability Support Worker at Le Grand Courtil, helping residents lead fulfilling lives by assisting them with their daily routines, personal care and shopping. After, William worked in digital marketing as an associate, helping promote local businesses across multiplatform media spaces to increase their growth. This included advertising for recruitment agencies, which gave William an insight into the nature of the employment landscape on island. Whilst rewarding, William missed supporting individuals on a one-to-one basis, and longed to return to his support worker roots in an entirely new way. William discovered working at GET effectively merged his experience with adult disability with his understanding of Guernsey's industry and employment sectors. Passionate about creating a more inclusive island, he is eager to start nurturing the development of GET's clients by encouraging their career growth. In his spare time William enjoys collecting and building Lego sets, creative writing and catching up on the latest comics.
