LUFKIN COMMUNITY PARTNER

Lufkin community Partner was established in August 2007. The Rainbow Room already existed but had no funding. LCP main goal in forming was to manage the Rainbow Room and raise funds to purchase new items to be available for the caseworkers to distribute. When CPS has to remove a child from their current home they try to find an appropriate family member to care for the child. This transition is less traumatic for a child. Unfortunately, the state does not provide any assistance to family members who care for these children. LCP is able to provide this assistance, which often allows families to help each other and ensures the least amount of trauma on a child... Lufkin Community Partners is a non-profit organization that operates the Rainbow Room and many other projects in an effort to assist families involved with Child Protective Services. This organization is completely dependent on the kindness of volunteers and the generosity of the community.
