Aikaterini Dogrammatzi has been working at the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters of the HCMR since 1995 as a fisheries technologist. She has been involved in several national and international research projects, organizing survey samplings, and participating in field trips, laboratory analysis of samples (fish, crustacean and cephalopod specimens), data entry of biological and fisheries records in the Data Bases of the IMBR-HCMR, as well as biological data analysis. She has co-authored several papers and presentations in international congresses.

Athina Kokkali

Athina Kokkali is a Marine Scientist with specialization in Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Tourism Planning and Management. Since 2015 she is a Phd candicate in the National Technical University of Athens, School of Rural and Surveying Engineering about "Participatory planning for the development of water airports in the coastal environment of Greece". Her research interests include: Participatory Planning, Marine Spatial Planning, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, Sustainable Tourism Development in Protected Areas and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Since 2011, she holds a position as a research associate at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. She has participated in European (MESMA, PEGASO, COCONET, ADRIPLAN, MARISCA) and national projects She has collaborated with institutions of Higher Education in Greece, as well as with private companies as external assistant. She has contributed in 5 papers in peer-reviewed journals and more than 20 other publications (i.e., conference proceedings, special publications, books, newspaper and magazine articles).

Dr Apostolos Papakonstantinou

Dr Apostolos Papakonstantinou is a cartographer working as a Post-Doctoral researcher in the Geography Department, University of the Aegean. He received his B.S. degree in Physics, an M.Sc. degree in Cultural Informatics and Communication and holds a Ph.D. in Geography and Applied Geo-Informatics. His work combines new methods and techniques in Cartographic representation, Scale issues and Geovisualization emphasizing in cartographic 2D & 3D representation of spatiotemporal phenomena and 3d animation. Apostolos is a member of the Cartography and Geo-Informatics Laboratory (Carto-GI Lab) since 2005, and he has been involved in cartographic and geovisualization research projects which led to a number of scientific publications in the field. His research interests include Thematic Cartography, UAVs and Geovisualization, 3D visualization techniques in Cartography, Scale Issues in Cartography & Geovisualization, and Computational Methods in Cartography.

Dr. Dimitris Kavroudakis

Dr. Dimitris Kavroudakis is an assistant professor of "Geographical Analysis" in the Geography Department, University of the Aegean. He has studied computer info systems in the American College of Greece (DEERE), Geography in The University of the Aegean and he obtained his MSc in GIS from the University of Leeds, UK. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Sheffield, UK and has worked as post-doc researcher in UCL (CASA), University of Sheffield and University of The Aegean. Over the years, he has been involved in high quality geographical research which led to a number of scientific publications in the field. Some of his academic interests include location analysis, spatial analysis, network analysis, GIS, open source and economic geography. He has been involved in research concerning web-GIS, visualization, spatial statistics, EU population inequalities, spatial economics and open source GIS development. He uses new approaches in geographical analysis such as Artificial Intelligence and Agent Based Modelling and supports new computational approaches such as Grid Computing and large scale distributed modelling. Dimitris is an experienced programmer and a Linux/open-source supporter utilizing open hardware such as Raspbery-PI and Android OS.

Irida Maina

Irida Maina is a geographer (M.Sc.) and from 2011 works as a research assistant in HCMR. She has participated in European and National research projects (eg BENTHIS, PERSEUS, STOCKMED, MESMA, ECODISC) and from 2012 she is a PhD student in Department of Marine Sciences (University of the Aegean). She has research interests in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial analysis, geostatistics, analysis of spatio-temporal patterns, regression modeling (GAM, GLM etc.), GIS-based multi-criteria decision analysis and also in implementation of modeling and spatial analytical methods for the analysis of Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) data and their interaction with biotic and abiotic parameters. Paraskevi Karachle

Paraskevi Karachle is an Assistant Researcher at the HCMR. She has worked in European funding programs on fisheries. She is expert in food ecology and fish eco-morphology. In recent years she has dealt with the involvement of interested parties (stakeholders), mainly fishermen, in participatory processes in order to develop an adaptive management process. She has been responsible for submitting projects and the dissemination of information, organization of meetings and workshops, especially on issues related to the participation of scientists and stakeholders, while she was in charge of the «Task 5.3: PlanExecution» project ADRIPLAN, which concerned the handling of information dissemination of the project objectives. In addition, she was the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 11th Panhellenic Symposium of Oceanography and Fisheries, organized by Associations Researchers and Workers HCMR (Mytilene, 13-17 May 2015) and has been designated as responsible communication on the part HCMR on the coordination of the actions of Center within the celebration of the European Day of the Sea in Piraeus (30-31 May, public days). She is the coordinator of the PROTOMEDEA project (Towards the establishment of Marine Protected Area networks in the Eastern Mediterranean).

Stefanos Kavadas

Stefanos Kavadas is Research Scientist of HCMR. He has studied Mathematics and Informatics at the University of Göteborg in Sweden. He has 23 years experience in design and manufacturing databases, geographic information systems, development of methodologies for analyzing VMS data in design and development of web applications, classical and advanced statistical data analysis and geostatistics. He is in charge of Fisheries Data Centre and the foundations of the National Fisheries Data Collection Programme. During the period 2003-2007 as project leader of the UP program "Development of an integrated management system to support the sustainability of the fishery resources of Greece, IMAS-Fish» he developed an integrated fisheries data management system that meets the needs of the Institute on databases, geographic information systems and statistical analysis.

Stelios Katsanevakis is the project coordinator. He is Associate Professor in marine ecology with extensive experience in fieldwork on Mediterranean marine ecosystems.
