He has spent more than 20 years with Standard Chartered Bank in India, London, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Having been an integral part of Standard Chartered Bank¡¦s very focused, disciplined growth in emerging markets gives him the right skills to evaluate an emerging market institution from a developed market perspective. The last 2 years he worked for ANZ Bank responsible for developing business banking in Singapore and in Myanmar. Dinkar lived and worked in Thailand for 3 years, Vietnam for 4 years, nearly 1 year in Myanmar and is currently based in Singapore.

Hanco Halbertsma

Hanco Halbertsma is strategy advisor to banks, finance companies and micro finance institutions in emerging markets and to (potential) investors in financial institutions. In many situations, often as part of an equity investment process, he conducted a Strategic & Operational Review. Such a review covers the country's macro economy, financial services sector, the institution¡¦s market position and financial performance, its business plans and financial projections, as well as an assessment of the organisational & management structure and its operating platform. Such a review results in the design of a new business model, as well as an implementation plan detailing the financial, commercial and operational aspects. Hanco is an expert in retail and business banking, micro finance, SME finance, credit risk management, corporate governance and receivable finance. In Asia he worked on projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia and Philippines. In Africa he worked in Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa. Hanco founded Priority Project Limited (PPL) in 2006, following a 16-year career at ING Group of which nearly 8 years with ING-IGA, a specialist financial-sector consulting group, lastly based in Hong Kong as its Director for Asia. Hanco is based in Hong Kong.

Hans Boon

Hans Boon is a world-leading expert in Postbanking and Postal finance with a focus on advancing financial inclusion through postal networks, as well as corporate reform and development of state-owned postal operators. He combines deep & broad practitioner experience in postal financial services with experience in commercial & investment banking, as well as postal industry in industrialised and emerging markets. This makes Hans an expert in strategy development for rural state-owned financial institutions. For over 25 years Hans worked on more than 70 projects in more than 60 countries on 5 continents on market research and organizational diagnosis, strategy, business design and implementation, and on building partnerships between banks and postal institutions. In Asia, he worked with postal financial institutions in Azerbaijan, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lao PDR, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.

Khanh Trong Dao

Khanh Trong Dao is a business and banking professional with nearly 20 years of banking experience of which 9 years in C-level positions, lastly he was the CEO of a midsize Vietnamese commercial bank. For 4 years Khanh had senior roles at Maritime Bank, first as Deputy CEO and later as Executive Vice Chairman responsible for the bank¡¦s restructuring which lead to the bank¡¦s steep growth and strong financial performance. He is an expert in strategy, risk management, credit products and financial management in both the retail and SME segments. He also led the acquisition of a finance company and of another bank, and successfully integrated these into the main bank. Khanh¡¦s first-hand involvement in an extensive and complex restructuring process made him a strong project manager in turnaround situations. For 4 years Khanh was with TPBank, initially responsible for establishing this new bank and subsequently building up the bank from scratch to a successful midsize retail and business bank with a presence in all commercial centres. Khanh also managed the investment process that resulted in a significant equity investment by SBI (Singapore / Japan). Additionally, for 7 years Khanh worked for 3 international banks: Citibank, Credit Lyonnais Bank and Fujibank. Khanh is based in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Peter Briggs

Peter Briggs has spent the last thirty-five years working in the banking sector, largely in emerging markets. For several years he was Finance Director of a Belgian retail bank, part of the ING group, responsible for Accounting & Management Reporting, MIS, Management Information Systems, ALM, Treasury and Compliance. He is a successful banking consultant and an expert in the areas of management information and reporting (development of management accounting and MIS); financial and strategic planning (planning methodology and procedures, establishing strategy); accounting (introduction of IAS/IFRS); internal control (review of control procedures), and ALM (establishing ALCO and related procedures and reporting).

Rob Kaanen
