Sonia is based in North Queensland, Australia and has provided mediation, coaching and capability-development in conflict resolution and management for almost 20 years.
Sonia's diverse mediation experience spans across the arenas of family, workplace, civil and restorative justice for criminal matters. In addition, Sonia provides conflict coaching and group facilitation services to manage and prevent damaging conflict. Sonia's experience also extends to the design of workplace conflict resolution systems.
Sonia also offers services for the resolution of disputes between individuals and organisations, including HR grievances; landlords and tenants; business and commercial disputes; estates and family relationships; as well as private disputes between individuals. Facilitation services can be provided within organisations, including strategic planning, group decision-making and difficult AGMs and meetings. Sonia's expertise in the conflict resolution and management field has been recognised in North Queensland and sees her as a sessional university lecturer for post-graduate students at James Cook University. Sonia also provides industry training and facilitation services, focusing on communication, interpersonal, group dynamics, conflict resolution and management, difficult conversations, performance management and supervision, management and leadership.
Sonia has a solid background in conflict and interpersonal communication theory, and holds a Master's Degree in Alternative Conflict Resolution and Management.
On a personal note, Sonia has a husband and a teenage son and lives in the beautiful North Queensland. Queensland.
In terms of qualifications and accreditation, Sonia is a NMAS accredited mediator and is on the Australian register of Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners. She is a member of the Resolution Institute. Sonia has a Masters degree in Conflict Resolution and Management and Social Work.
