Alan led our pallet business - Scott Pallets Manufacturing and Reconditioned Business Units, as Managing Director from 2008 - 2020, including overseeing a number of strategic acquisitions and exceptional organic growth. Alan started his career with the General Electric Company as a management trainee and subsequently held senior management positions in the packaging sector prior to joining the pallet industry in 2003.

Alistair has worked in the timber industry since 1977 carrying out various roles from sales and customer service through to operations and purchasing. He has been with the Group since 2007 when he joined us through the acquisition of Marlaw Pallet Services. Today, he is responsible for procurement within our pallet business, and his main focus is on timber supply chain and security of supply.

Billy joined Scott Group in 2016 from audit firm RSM having trained and qualified as a CA. He joined the Group Finance team, playing a key role in developing the group finance function and supporting acquisitions before transferring to the Manufacturing business unit. Billy now plays a key role in the financial stewardship and governance of the business unit while supporting the strategic growth and development of the business.

Having around 15 years of both domestic and international experience within the pallet industry, Chris' primary function is to ensure successful management of the developing reconditioned pallet sales team, to meet growing business requirements.

Danielle joined Scott Group in 2005 while studying (MA) Accountancy & Finance at Edinburgh University. Having worked in all areas of the finance function she has developed an in-depth knowledge of the business and built strong relationships across the key business functions. Danielle has played a key role in the growth and development of the Reconditioned Business Unit and wider Group over the years and with her wealth of experience helped to drive efficiencies and improve business-critical management information. Danielle is now responsible for the business unit finance team and continues to play a key role in the strategic growth and objectives.

Responsible for all Group IT, business systems, IT security and communications systems, David provides technical leadership throughout the business and ensures business continuity. As well as managing the day to day operations of the IT team, he is also responsible for the strategic planning and direction of this area in the business.
Des is an experienced sales professional with more than 30 years of operating in the business supplies and safety equipment industry. He is a key member of Scott Direct's senior leadership team. As Sales Director, he is responsible for leading a national sales team to deliver ambitious, strategic sales growth and customer value. He is a highly personable, professional individual with exemplary sales and collaborative leadership skills, including negotiation, business planning and development, lead generation, and team building.

A Manufacturing Engineering graduate, with extensive experience as a design engineer in South America, Mexico and North America. After moving to the UK, working in various design and manufacturing organisations, he gained the experience and skills to excel as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Production Manager. With applied continuous improvement experience in manufacturing a wide variety of products as Project Manager, Mentor and trainer of Six Sigma Methodologies, he is responsible for delivering operational Excellence methodologies, across all manufacturing sites, to deliver sustainable high performance in productivity, profitability, quality and service.
Jim joined the board of Scott Group Investments during 2015 following 20 years as a partner with big four accountancy firm EY.
His focus as chairman of Scott Group is to chair the regular meetings of the board ensuring the group develops and executes a strategic plan, effectively manages risk and actively seeks opportunities for future growth and development.
John joined our business ten years ago from Cummins Power Generation. At Scott Pallets he is responsible for transport operation and compliance, quality, engineering, facilities, key development projects, and Capex budget.
John provides technical and design expertise across our pallet business and represents our business at several trade associations and committees. He is President of the UK Timber Pallet and Packaging Confederation (TIMCON), represents the UK at the European Association FEFPEB - Technical and Policy Committee meetings, he is a member of the UK Wood Marking Advisory Council (ISPM 15), represents the industry on the GB and NI Tree Health Advisory Committee, and is the International Director for the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association (USA). He is also a member of the PDS Advisory Committee, represents the UK at the World Global Forum meetings, and represents the UK at Interpal events.
John has over 34 years of experience in the industrial supplies industry for hand tools, power tools and workwear. Previously, as Sales Director in a traditional B2B environment, he successfully drove the expansion and diversification of that business into the UK & European wholesale and ecommerce markets. In 2010, he joined Scott Direct as a Business Development Manager. He has successfully managed a power tools business unit, developing an additional sales channel strategy through eBay and an online B2B offering. His vision for modernisation with a "change and adapt" attitude while improving sales and increasing productivity through automated systems is key to his success. As Ecommerce Director he is leading the development and implementation of a new B2B and B2C ecommerce site as part of the businesses' omnichannel sales strategy.

Karen joined Scott Pallets as Sales Director in 2003 following a successful career in the NHS. For 13 years she was responsible for our new pallet sales growth strategy, through a period of multiple acquisitions and year on year organic growth. In 2017 she took on responsibility for the Group's marketing activities, supporting all parts of the business to deliver growth. As a member of the senior management team, she is also committed to delivering continuous improvement across the business and has a particular interest in developing collaborative business relationships across organisations and diverse functional areas.

Kevin has been with our business for almost 25 years, having worked his way around numerous pallet manufacturing sites throughout our Scottish and English operations. Today, he is responsible for both the operational and financial budget for the reconditioned business unit, including individual site performances, sales team, compliance, strategy and our £55m turnover.
Marie has responsibility for the internal operations of Scott Direct. She has been with the business for 30 years and has built up an unrivalled wealth of knowledge in systems and procedures, working or assisting in every department. She is passionate about continuous improvement, root cause analysis and people development. She leads the Integrated Management System, which is accredited to ISO9001 and ISO14001. Striving for excellence in the quality of both products and procedures, Marie works as part of a high achieving, cross-functional management team that works collaboratively with all personnel to promote the principles of hard work, integrity and teamwork. Her leadership ensures that together they provide customers with a first-class service and strive to achieve the company vision to be - the market's safety and industrial supplies partner of choice.

Norman is a joint owner of the business. Day to day, he is involved in the operational side of all parts of the Group, with a particular focus on timber purchasing and supplies, as well as the commercial property division.
Rob has over 30 years experience in the industrial and MRO supplies industry, apparel manufacturing and supply.
As Sales and Operations Director with a large multinational organisation, he successfully led a UK-wide team of over 500. He was critical to the success of the business, helping to grow a strategic national network of sites, driving operational efficiency and improving profitability.
In 2016 he joined Scott Group, as Managing Director of industrial distributor, Scott Direct and garment manufacturer, Seahawk Apparel. In five years, Rob has led a transformational business improvement strategy. His natural collaborative leadership style has been key to his success in delivering positive cultural and operational changes which are driving sustainable financial improvement.
Having established the necessary solid foundations, Rob is now focused on expanding the business, the development and implementation of Scott Direct's B2B digital strategy, and sustainably increasing garment production capacity at Seahawk Apparel's UK manufacturing facility.

Robert Blaikie joined Scott Pallets as Sales Director, Manufacturing, following 11 years of experience in pallets including 5 years as Sales Director with CHEP, and more recently as Sales & Marketing Director with a supply chain solutions provider.
Robert is responsible for enabling the Account Management team to deliver exceptional customer service and support, ensuring that Scott Pallets remain the supplier of choice for all of our customers.
Robert is a solicitor qualified in both Scotland and England/Wales and joined the Group in 2011 from law firm Anderson Strathern. Robert deals with corporate, legal and commercial matters across the Group including acquisitions, disposals and corporate finance arrangements. He also has responsibility for the Property Division

Stuart McNair - Chief Procurement Officer
Stuart has over 20 years' experience in managing a wide range of supply chains from Aerospace to Construction machinery manufacturing. He joined the company in 2019 with a focus on coordinating the power of the whole company to ensure a robust, sustainable and effective supply chain.

Tracy is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA). She has responsibility for leading the Group finance and IT functions. Since she joined the business in 2000 she has grown the finance team from four employees to twenty. Over the same period Group annual sales turnover has grown organically and through multiple diverse acquisitions, from £7m to over £175m, with Tracy having a strategic role in this transformational change. As a Group board member, she continues to play a key role in developing and supporting the businesses' future, ambitious growth strategy.
