Any person or entity granted access to DFPS information resources must comply with DFPS Information Security Standards. Information entrusted to DFPS is protected in a manner consistent with its confidentiality and in accordance with all applicable standards, agreements, and laws. Users may not attempt to access any program, system, or data for which they do not have approved authorization or explicit consent. Casual browsing of case records or other files is strictly forbidden. Any person who accesses DFPS information without a business justification or appropriate instructions is in violation of this policy. Such violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, and may warrant civil penalties or criminal penalties.
