Rachel Marie Sherman

Rachel Marie Sherman, 31, of Naples, Florida, died unexpectedly on September 11, 2023 in Naples, Florida. Rachel was born in Pasadena, Texas on June 30, 1992 to Deena (Steven) Knight and Paul (Sherry) Sims, who knew they were going to have their hands full when she was born screaming and continued to do so at random times for the next 31 years. Rachel is a 2011 graduate of West High School in Columbus, Ohio and worked as a retail assistant manager. Rachel was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and is survived by her children, Riley, Grayson and Journey. Rachel is also survived by her parents, her siblings Paul Sims Jr and Brandie (Traylor) Currey of Naples, Texas. Brother Danny (Skylair) Sims of Rye, Texas. Brother Dakota (Casandra) Sherman of South Vienna, Ohio, and her sister and brother Reagan and Andrew Knight of Grove City, Ohio. Rachel is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many other family members and friends. Rachel is also survived by her very strange cat ET who is currently making his general displeasure with the current situation known. Rachel never met a stray cat that she didn't try to keep whether her parents wanted her to or not. Rachel shared a special bond (and bathroom) with her Aunt Kelly Johnston of Naples, Florida who tried valiantly to keep Rachel on the straight and narrow but it was very much like being a lion tamer. Rachel loved animals, especially deep fried and all things Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as calling people seventy-five times in a row if they didn't answer and sending as many inappropriate memes as she could find. Rachel would be the first to say that she was flawed so we will leave you with this final thought: My dearest friend, if you don't mind… I'd like to join you by your side. Where we can gaze into the stars… A celebration of life will take place in Grove City, Ohio on Saturday September 30, 2023. Arrangements entrusted to Naples Funeral Home, Naples Florida.
