Euan McLeod, the creator of Dealer.js, originally had the goal in mind of creating adaptive and responsive web sites with push technologies and device capabilities. The shortcomings of responsive design solutions, especially on mobile devices and HD connected devices, led to the development of a Node.js module and open source javascript, collectively known as dealer.js... Dealer utilizes the concept of decks and cards to deliver or 'deal' content to a wide variety of devices. The dealer code will deliver decks of cards based on the device capabilities, network connection speed, media support and most importantly user actions. Devices with larger resolutions and better connection speeds shall be dealt more cards and bigger decks than devices with lower resolutions and capabilities.
