General Sales Co., (Pvt) Ltd (GESCO) was established on 21 st September 1977 as a Limited liability Company with an authorized share capital of Rs. 200,000/= and a paid up capital of Rs. 200,000/= and it ventured into business operations as a trading and indenting company at "Ceylinco House " the tallest building in Colombo at that time, occupying approximately 5000 sq ft with 25 employees.
