Alison Zimlich - CFO

Alison Zimlich joined SouthWest Water Company as Chief Financial Officer in May 2021. In this role, she leads the company's accounting, tax, strategic planning and finance functions, in addition to its ESG, strategic framework and risk management initiatives. Alison is a key contributor to the company's growth activities and investor relations. Alison brings 25 years of experience in the power and utilities sector to her role. Before joining SouthWest Water Company, she served as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of GridLiance, a regulated electric transmission company founded in partnership with Blackstone Energy Partners. Alison led the integration of GridLiance into NextEra Energy Transmission during Blackstone's successful exit from GridLiance in March 2021. Prior to GridLiance, she was the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Panda Power Funds, a private equity firm with $6 billion in power generation assets. She began her career in the utility industry at The AES Corporation. During her 17-year tenure, Alison served in a variety of finance and business development roles before rising to the rank of Chief Financial Officer of the company's $2 billion North America Generation division. She was also previously employed as a tax consultant at EY. Alison earned a bachelor's degree in business administration at Texas State University and a master's degree in taxation from The American University in Washington, D.C. She also holds a certificate in senior executive leadership from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. Alison is a certified public accountant and a chartered global management accountant.

Art Beattie

Art Beattie is an experienced board member, MBA and Chief Financial Officer with deep experience in financial reporting/disclosure, debt and equity capital markets, M&A and divestiture, enterprise risk management, financial planning, dividend policy and investor relations. Recognized as one of the best utility industry CFO's by analysts who participated in Institutional Investor's annual surveys in 2012 and 2013. Mr. Beattie has broad experience with boards and management of diverse business units, cultivating a sense of partnership across the company creating a common sense of ownership and financial discipline that drives goal achievement and balances the needs of diverse stakeholders. Mr. Beattie retired as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Southern Company in 2018 after more than 42 years of service. He rose to the highest ranks of the company due to his sound fiscal discipline, strategic ideas and strong professional drive. Prior to being named Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Beattie was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Alabama Power from 2005-2010. He served as Vice President and Comptroller of Alabama Power from 1998-2005 and Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer from 1992 through 1997. Before becoming an officer of Alabama Power, Mr. Beattie served in a variety of positions within the company's accounting, finance, treasury and corporate governance organizations. He first joined the company in 1976 as a junior accountant. Mr. Beattie holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also has completed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. Prior to the sale of the company in 2009, Mr. Beattie served as a Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee at Emageon, Inc. He has also served on many non-profit boards, including the Alabama Power Foundation, the Alabama School of Fine Arts, the Alabama Trust Fund and the Greater Birmingham Salvation Army Advisory Board.

Chris Kroll

Chris joined SouthWest Water Company in 2013 and is currently the Vice President of Corporate Development. He is responsible for leading the company's strategic growth initiatives, including water and wastewater utility acquisitions (private or municipal), as well as partnerships with housing developers seeking a reliable water/wastewater utility provider. Prior to his current role, Chris was Vice President of Finance, where he led the finance and treasury activities of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, debt issuances and M&A strategy. He also led the financial and transactional processes for the company's acquisitions. Chris's 20+ year career has focused on helping businesses grow. He started his career as a civil engineer, where he earned his Professional Engineering license in California. He then expanded his experience into strategy consulting at a boutique strategy firm, where he worked on multinational client engagements involving financial analysis, competitive benchmarking and strategic growth. He later joined Amphenol Corporation, a global manufacturer of electronic components, where he held various business development and product development roles before managing a $35M product division. Chris earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his master's degree in civil engineering from Northwestern University. He later earned his MBA from Columbia University.

Hai-Gi Li

Hai-Gi Li is a Managing Director and Investment Principal for the Infrastructure Investments Group at J.P.Morgan Asset Management. In addition to his role at SouthWest Water Company, Mr. Li also serves on the board of Nieuport Aviation Infrastructure Partners (Toronto City Island Airport). Prior to joining the Group in 2006, Mr. Li worked in J.P.Morgan's Investment Banking division for over seven years - including the Power & Infrastructure Group in J.P. Morgan's Hong Kong offices where he was involved in a range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, debt and equity financings, valuations, public sector advice and privatizations in the Asia-Pacific region. In 1999-2001 he worked within the Diversified Industrials Group in New York. Hai-Gi graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College and holds a B.A. in Government.

Hilda Pinnix-Ragland

Hilda joined the board of SouthWest Water in April of 2020. Based in North Carolina, she is a nationally respected expert in the utility space. Her experience includes serving as an Energy Consultant for Duke Energy and Vice President, Corporate Public Affairs with Progress Energy and, following the merger, with Duke Energy. While at Progress, Hilda established the Corporate Public Affairs function, which was expanded to serve 31 states and international interests in Central and South America at Duke. Hilda served in operating roles with Progress Energy, including Vice President, Northern Region, with management of distribution of electric service for more than 600,000 customers and community relations with a budget of $80 million, and as Vice President, Energy Delivery Services. In both roles, she achieved top quartile performance in safety, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. Hilda began her career on the financial side, serving as an accountant for Colgate Palmolive, a senior auditor for Arthur Andersen, and a financial analyst for Progress. Hilda holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from North Carolina A&T State University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University Fuqua School of Business. She also completed graduate studies in taxation from St. John's University and the Executive Program from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. Hilda chairs the Board of Trustees for NC A&T, serves on the Board of Directors for RTI International, and is on the Board of Advisors for 8 Rivers Financial Capital. She is also the past chair for NC Dental Services, Inc. Hilda is a NACD certified Corporate Director and is a Member of Women Corporate Directors. Karen J. Plessinger - Chairman

Karen is a California-based independent board director and utility consultant with more than thirty years of finance, investment and private equity experience. In addition to serving as the Chair for SouthWest Water's Board of Directors, Karen also currently serves as a Board member for Sonnedix, an international independent power producer focusing on photovoltaic electricity, and Enstor Inc., one of the largest independent midstream gas storage providers in the U.S. As one of the founding members of ArcLight Capital Partners in 2001, Karen helped establish the firm's strategy in private equity investment in power and energy assets, from start up to $5.0 billion in committed funds. She worked extensively with portfolio company management teams and boards in the midstream and regulated areas before becoming a consultant for the firm from 2009-2010. Prior to joining ArcLight, Karen was the Managing Director of Shoreline Utility Advisors for two years and Utilities Research Director at Angelo Gordon, where she was co-portfolio manager/analyst of hedged utility funds and advised the risk-arbitrage desk and distressed desk on utility positions. Before this, Karen spent two years as the utility analyst at Merrill Lynch Asset Management's (now BlackRock) Global Utility Fund, and two years as the utility analyst at Franklin Resources (now Franklin Templeton). Karen has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she is the past president and member of the College of Business Finance Advisory Board.

Michael Quinn

Michael Quinn has over four decades of experience in the water and wastewater industry. He served as President & CEO of SouthWest Water Company from 2013-2018 and spent a number of years in California as the President of Suburban Water Systems, the company's largest business unit, from 1996 - 2013. Mr. Quinn was also President of SouthWest Water Company Utility Group from its inception in June 2002 until December 2009. After serving for the Air Force in Vietnam, Michael's long career began with SouthWest Water Company in 1970 and has included several key operational positions since then. Michael was raised in Arkansas and then made his way over to California State University at Fullerton to earn a bachelor's degree in business management. From there, he moved into Suburban's accounting department, becoming Controller/Treasurer in 1981. In 1985, he was named President of ECO Resources, Inc. In 1992, he returned to Suburban as Chief Operating Officer, a position he held until 1996. Among his water industry affiliations, Michael is a past president of both the California Water Association and the National Association of Water Companies, and represents SouthWest Water as a member on the boards of the California Domestic Water Company and Covina Irrigating Company. He also is a past director of the Main San Gabriel Basin WaterMaster.

Peter Kind

Prior to founding the advisory firm eiAdvocates LLC in 2012, Peter worked for over 30 years in investment banking, with a specialization in utility and power sector finance. Peter's investment banking career focused on capital raising and strategic advisory services, including merger and acquisition. Peter's investment banking experience, includes experience at Macquarie Group, Bank of America, where he lead the Power and Utilities Corporate and Investment Banking effort, Citigroup and Kidder Peabody, where he co-directed the Power & Utilities industry teams of each of those firms. Prior to investment banking, Peter worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. Peter has written several papers on the challenges and opportunities facing the energy and power sector. In 2013, Peter authored a paper for the Edison Electric Institute titled "Disruptive Challenges." In 2015, Peter continued evolving his thesis with a paper titled "Pathway to a 21st Century Utility Model" for Ceres. In 2016, Peter collaborated with CLEAResult on a paper outlining the need for adequate utility incentives titled "Lower Spending, Higher Returns". Peter serves as an independent member to the Boards overseeing El Paso Electric (Audit Committee Chair), NextEra Energy Partners LP (Special Committee Chair) and Southwest Water Company (People and Remuneration Committee Chair). Peter holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and BBA in Accounting from Iona College. Peter practiced as a Certified Public Accountant until 1981. During 2008 to 2011, Peter was Co-Chairman of EEI's Wall Street Advisory Group.

Rob MacLean became SouthWest Water's President and Chief Executive Officer in 2018, and is based at the company's Sugar Land office in Texas. Rob's career has spanned over 20 years in the water industry and he has served as a volunteer leader for various regional and national organizations. From 1999 to 2018, Rob held numerous executive positions at American Water, most recently as Senior Vice President of American Water's Eastern Division, comprised of New Jersey, New York, Virginia, and Maryland, and President of New Jersey American Water. Rob's previous roles with American Water include President of California and Hawaii. Rob co-chairs the board of the National Utilities Diversity Council, a national nonprofit organization focusing on the growth of diversity in the utilities industry. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Water Companies. While he was leading California American Water, Rob served on the board of directors of the California Chamber of Commerce as co-chair of the Chamber's Water Committee and a member of the Executive Committee. Rob earned his master's degree in applied science in civil engineering from Polytechnique University in Montreal and his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from McGill University in Montreal. In 2014, he attended the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and is a licensed professional engineer.

Sherina Maye Edwards - President

Sherina Maye Edwards is an experienced executive and corporate board member who has held a broad range of leadership roles that provide the breadth of experience and understanding required to lead innovative change. She leverages her executive, regulatory, and legal experience to bring value to the corporate boardroom no matter what hat she is wearing. Prior to this role, Edwards served as the Chief Strategy Officer for MasTec (NYSE: MTZ), a $10B Fortune 500 utilities infrastructure company. In that role she led the evolution of the power delivery segment with multi-year strategic planning, integration and alignment across all entities, and acceleration of business results to drive growth and profitability. Prior to that, she served as the President and CEO of INTREN, a subsidiary of MasTec, where she led the company to a significant increase in operational efficiency, cost reductions, and safety excellence, resulting in record-breaking financial results. Prior to joining INTREN, she served as an energy and utilities regulatory Partner at Quarles & Brady. Additionally, Edwards acquired extensive experience on issues impacting the energy and utility industry while serving a five-year term on the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) where she was charged with ensuring safe, reliable and affordable utility service to Illinois consumers. Edwards has a unique level of regulatory experience including analyzing, formulating, and implementing public policy at the state and federal levels. She also led efforts to enhance legal education related to public utility regulation, examining new regulatory methods by which rate case expenses could be recovered to mitigate impact on ratepayers and reduce overall costs, and she is leading efforts to promote supplier diversity among investor-owned utilities. In 2016, Edwards was appointed by President Barack Obama and U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Anthony Foxx as Co-Chair of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Voluntary Information-Sharing System Working Group, where she provided recommendations to the Secretary of Transportation on the protection of proprietary and security-sensitive information. Edwards is nationally recognized for championing diversity and inclusion within the utility and energy sector and her leadership led to the creation of the Illinois Utilities Business Diversity Council and the ICC's Office of Diversity and Community Affairs. Edwards is a graduate of Howard University's School of Law and a cum laude graduate of Spelman College where she received her B.A. in Psychology.
