Tru-amp's affiliation with the telecommunications industry began in January of 1981 when a long-term contract for switchgear maintenance was established in Louisiana. In March of 1981, Tru-amp began a similar switchgear maintenance program in Mississippi. A contract was added for Alabama in 1984. Contracts for switchgear maintenance of telecommunications facilities through the southern and eastern localities were added the same year.
