Ashley Leonard - CFO

Ashley Leonard joined UtilityAPI as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in early 2024. Before joining UtilityAPI, Ashley served as the CFO of ConnectDER, a venture-backed cleantech design and manufacturing company at the forefront of creating solutions to enable affordable clean energy access and speed the adoption of climate safe technologies. Ashley has guided several mission-driven organizations through periods of rapid growth and change. She began her career at Harris Williams as an investment banking analyst focused on middle market M&A, primarily in the industrial manufacturing and consumer products sectors. Ashley continued to build on her strategic finance and general management skill set through diverse leadership experience in banking, venture-backed start-ups, and non-profit organizations. Ashley's greatest accomplishment is her family. Ashley is raising three teenagers in partnership with her husband, an Emergency Medicine Physician. Ashley likes to be active in her community - serving on local boards (Arlington Free Clinic, Girls on the Run - DC), teaching yoga, coaching youth sports, and volunteering as a sustainable business plan reading judge and mentor. She holds a BS in Commerce with a concentration in Finance and Management from the University of Virginia McIntire School and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

Daniel Roesler - Founder

Daniel Roesler is the Chief Innovation Officer at UtilityAPI, which he founded in 2014. With a deep commitment to advancing customer utility data accessibility, Daniel has been instrumental in driving UtilityAPI's growth and shaping its technological vision. Daniel is also a subject matter expert on data access, providing technical input to many standards and regulatory proceedings, serving as the vice-chair on the Green Button Alliance board, and currently leading LFEnergy's Carbon Data Specification Consortium (CDSC) working group on customer data. Before joining UtilityAPI, Daniel worked as a project engineer for a solar and energy management company, as the CTO of a fitness app start-up, and as a project engineer for an air emissions testing company. In his free time, Daniel volunteers for the League of Women Voters, where he is on the board of directors in Austin as the Voters Guide Editor. He also maintains multiple open-source privacy and security projects, showcasing his commitment to digital safety and transparency. Daniel has a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Devin Hampton - CEO

Devin Hampton has served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UtilityAPI since 2019. Devin is also the co-founder of Empowering Diverse Climate Talent (EDICT), a collective of over 70 climate tech companies that has created hundreds of career opportunities for people from non-traditional backgrounds. He serves on the board of directors at GridFWD, The Clean Energy Leadership Institute, Clean Energy for America, and is an advisor to GreenTech Noir. Before joining UtilityAPI, Devin served in the Obama Administration. He spent seven years at the Department of Energy (DOE), where he held multiple positions, including Senior Advisor for Emerging Markets. He then became Chief of Staff at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, where he led investments in infrastructure, smart cities, and energy projects in emerging markets. Prior to his federal service, Devin worked a wide range of jobs, including unionized airline baggage handler, hotel night manager, bartender, political field organizer, and Obama for America advance staffer. Devin is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Josh Keeling

Josh Keeling is the Chief Growth Officer at UtilityAPI. Previously, he served as the Senior Vice President of Product and Market Development when he joined in 2023. Before joining UtilityAPI, he held leadership roles at Generac, LO3 Energy, and Portland General Electric, where he developed extensive expertise in market strategy, product management, analytics, resource planning, distributed controls, and economic analysis. Josh serves as Vice Chair of the Green Button Alliance and is a voting member of the Regional Technical Forum. His groundbreaking work in dynamic rates and flexibility has earned multiple recognitions from the Peak Load Management Alliance. A lifelong learner, he holds a Ph.D. A.B.D./M.S. in Systems Science and a B.S. in Economics from Portland State University. Weekends find him wrangling his three kids, tinkering with his e-bike, and riding the emotional highs and lows of being a devoted Trail Blazers fan.
