Caroline Ulbrich - CEO

Based in Switzerland, Caroline has truly international business credentials having worked in the aviation retail and airline catering industries across 16 different countries, specialising in Change Management, Turnarounds and business start-ups. Before starting Versilia, Caroline worked for gategroup where she held various senior roles; these have included Director of Continuous Improvement Europe, General Manager Gate Gourmet Barcelona (SP) and Managing Director Gate Total Solutions (UK). As CEO & President of Gate Retail Onboard (GRO), Caroline founded and successfully established GRO in 2011. The business grew rapidly and was recognised as a global market leader in retail onboard business, operating 10 contracts across five continents with revenue in excess of CHF300 million.

Nathan Heath

Nathan sits on the Versilia Solutions Board as a Non-Executive Director. A chartered accountant by background, Nathan is a senior investment professional and represents Versilia Solutions' investment partner, BGF, interests in the company. Nathan works across a range of sectors and growth stages, but with a focus on scale-up businesses. He has been with BGF for 4 years and prior to that was an Associate Director with Grant Thornton in their Central & East Corporate Finance team.

Neale Jouques - Chief Commercial Officer

Neale leads the Commercial & Business development team for Versilia and is our Operations and Supply Chain expert. Before Versilia launched, Neale was Managing Director for Gate Retail Onboard in Europe, supporting retail programmes with airlines such as easyJet, Wizz, Vueling and Norwegian. He led successful bids to retain the easyJet contract and TUI retail business and has worked on retail projects in locations such as India and Russia. Neale's background is in supply chain, logistics and operations. He has previously held roles as Stansted Airport's Head of Engineering and Logistics, then Terminal General Manager. A British Army officer for more than 20 years, Neale planned, implemented and sustained British military deployments into Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans. He also worked in UK Central Government, controlling military budgets and programmes.

Steven Steel - CFO

Steven leads financial strategy and regulatory compliance as well as overseeing the development of Versilia's systems and process infrastructure. Steven's finance background includes professional practice with PwC. From there he moved to Waterline Group Plc, where he steered the new business development team through a targeted acquisition strategy. Steven worked for gategroup as a Finance Director for Gate Total Solutions supporting easyJet's retail programme and subsequently became Business Development Director for Gate Retail Onboard, where he played a key role in transitioning all European retail contracts onto a consistent operational, IT and financial platform.

Sue Walker

Sue is responsible for coaching our Account Managers and leads on the creation and delivery of Versilia's customer retail strategies, including crew engagement. At Gate Total Solutions, Sue initially managed the easyJet retail concession. For Gate Retail Onboard Sue was Managing Director, New Business and Product Innovation lead with responsibilities that span across crew engagement, retail product procurement and brand development as well as managing customer accounts in Asia, Australia and South America. An industry champion, Sue is the representative for inflight concessionaires for the UK Travel Retail Forum (UKTRF). Before switching to retail, Sue spent her early career in the hotel and hospitality sector before moving to the aviation industry, where she held several management positions with TUI (formerly Britannia Airways).

Tony Davis - Chairman

With more than 35 years in the airline sector, Tony brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Versilia's Chairman. Tony's career in aviation began with British Airways in pricing and sales. He later spent 4 years in New York co-ordinating BA's investment in USAir. After a spell at Gulf Air negotiating codeshare agreements and alliances, he joined British Midland as Director of Corporate Affairs and in 2002 founded and built the low-cost carrier, bmibaby. He moved on to become CEO and President of Tiger Airways in Singapore, building the airline from scratch and leading the company to a successful IPO in 2010. Thereafter he joined Irelandia Aviation as COO and Partner, developing their portfolio of investments in the low-cost carrier market. He is currently working with Mesa Airlines to develop a new regional airline based in Europe. Tony has held Non-Executive roles with a number of airlines including Viva Colombia, Viva Aerobus and Sky West (Australia); alongside NED appointments in companies associated with tourism, aviation, education and the arts. Tony holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
