Parsons Pharmacist, Don Brenner had an idea in 1961 to add a pharmacy onto the front porch of his family's home at 1519 Main Street. Local contractor Donald Ginn was hired to build what was to become Brenner Presription. Brenner Prescription opened in July 1961 and remained open for 14 years until Wm. (Bill) D. Bowen purchased it in 1975. Bill kept the Brenner Prescription name for three years before changing it to Bowen Pharmacy. He owned and operated the hometown pharmacy for 25 years until current owners, Pharmacist Brian West and his wife, Amy, purchased Bowen Pharmacy in September 2003. They plan on keeping the Bowen name and believe the reputation it stands for of how they do business is important to their customers - letting them know that's how Brian intends to keep doing business in Parsons for years to come.
