Events such as September 11th, anthrax scares, summer and winter super-storms, school and hospital shootings, major traffic incidents, the H1N1 pandemic, and the Boston Marathon bombing; all demonstrate that healthcare organizations are not immune from disaster related events. What events like these show is that organizations must have in place a "Ready Every Day" culture of preparedness; one that allows it to react on a moment's notice in order to protect patients, staff, visitors, and its community.
