Dr. Farhan Arif

Dr. Farhan Arif specializes in all the different aspects of kidney disease including Acute Renal Failure, Hypertension, GN, Kidney stones, Chronic Kidney Disease, Dialysis, transplant and other kidney related problems. He has a special interest in helping patients achieve good quality of life while dealing with chronic kidney disease. Dr. Arif graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan in 2005. After completing his Internal Medicine Residency training from The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, he worked as a Hospitalist for 7 years. Then he went back in training at The University of Cincinnati for a Fellowship in Nephrology to pursue his true passion to help patients with kidney diseases. During his training he was awarded with Graduate Medical Trainee Award of Excellence for his leadership, dedication and outstanding contributions to The University of Cincinnati. He also graduated with Best Fellow award for his class of 2018. Dr. Arif's wife is an Internal Medicine physician practicing in Greater Cincinnati area. They have three boys who are keeping both of them busy. He likes to travel and play basketball with his boys during his free time.

Dr. Megan Caroway

Dr. Megan Caroway is a nephrologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease, acute renal failure, hypertension, dialysis, electrolyte abnormalities, kidney stones, and glomerulonephritis. Dr. Caroway is a lifelong native of Cincinnati. She attended Northern Kentucky University where she studied piano performance and also earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2015 and then completed a three year Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Cincinnati. She is a board certified physician of Internal Medicine and developed a specific interest in the diseases and disorders of the kidneys. Following graduation from residency, Dr. Caroway completed the Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. In her free time, Dr. Caroway enjoys biking with her husband and cooking. She is a doting aunt to her two nieces, loving wife to her Cardiologist husband, and likes spending time on her family's farm outside of Cincinnati.

Firas Ahmed Adeel

Dr. Adeel is a nephrologist specializing in diagnosing and managing kidney diseases, hypertension, and kidney stones. He is an advocate for home dialysis modalities for patients with end-stage kidney disease in order to provide them with more control in their care. He graduated from Dow Medical College in 2015 and completed his Internal Medicine training at the University of Toledo in 2019 followed by a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Cincinnati in 2021. In his free time he likes to spend time with family and enjoy the great outdoors. He also enjoys reading non-fiction books. He particularly fond of good music and is an amateur bassist.

Ian A. Meyer

Dr. Meyer is a Cincinnati native who returned to join Mt. Auburn Nephrology and now lives here with his wife and children. Following college, he obtained a Masters degree in English while teaching Freshman Composition at Wright State University and wrote a one-man-play on the life of Walt Whitman. During that time, Dr. Meyer competed in multiple Triathlons as well as enjoyed white water kayaking in local rivers such as the Youghiogheny and Gauley River dam release. He later went on to develop a Writing Across the Curriculum program for Wright State's Biology Department. Having also developed some of the first multi-media presentations at that time, he was then brought into the Anatomy department where he obtained a Masters in Anatomy while teaching night classes in the nursing program. The next step was medical school at Ohio University and residency at Akron City Hospital. He remained as Chief for an extra year before his Nephrology Fellowship at The University of Cincinnati.

Kirstyn Shea Hanna

Shea grew up in a rural town just 30 miles north of Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and started her nursing career at University of Kentucky Medical Center. While working in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at UK Hospital she began to develop her love and passion for renal patients. With 3 years of nursing experience she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner and moved to Cincinnati. Once she moved to Cincinnati, Shea began to work at Christ Hospital in the Hemodialysis department for the Acute program. Shortly after moving to Cincinnati she married her husband, who works for Prasco Pharmaceuticals in Mason, Ohio. Shea completed her Masters of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner education at Northern Kentucky University where she graduated with honors. She is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed as a Family Nurse practitioner within the State of Ohio. Once her Master's was completed, she had the opportunity to join the staff at Mt. Auburn Nephrology, Inc. in October, 2015 as a new graduate Nurse Practitioner. With 5 years of experience in Nephrology and Critical Care, she is eager to learn more abut Nephrology and caring for and educating patients on their renal care needs. Shea and her husband currently live in Fairfield and plan to build in Lebanon next year. They live with their two dogs and are expecting their first child in September. In her free time, Shea enjoys spending time with her friends and family, baking, traveling, sports and crafting.

Lindsey D. Spencer

Lindsey was born and raised in Shipshewana, IN. After Graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor's in nursing from Indiana State University, she worked at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN caring for patients post open heart surgery. The following year she moved with her husband to Cincinnati to work at The University Hospital. She enjoyed working in the medical intensive care unit, but knew her passion was to work as a nurse practitioner. Lindsey completed her Masters of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner education with honors from Indiana State University in 2010. While working in the medical intensive care unit, Lindsey enjoyed working with patients with renal care needs including CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy). After completing her master's degree she was excited to join the staff at Mt. Auburn Nephrology in 2011 as a NP. She enjoys caring for and educating patients on their nephrology care needs. Lindsey is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner and licensed as a FNP within the state of Ohio. Lindsey has a 2 year old daughter and a 7 year old cockapoo, Charlie. She lives in Morrow with her husband, who is an engineer. In her free time, Lindsey enjoys running, cooking/baking, and spending time with friends and family.

Muhammad A. Khan

Dr. Khan is a Board certified Nephrologist who has been active in patient care since 2004 in the Greater Cincinnati area. He graduated from Dow Medical College and completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 2001 from New York Medical College. He also did a year of fellowship training in Geriatrics in 2002 from the Albert Einstein Medical School. He followed his pursuit in Nephrology and completed fellowship in 2004 from New York Medical College. Dr Khan is active in supervising and instructing medical students and residents. He is part of the teaching faculty of The Mercy - Jewish Hospital. He also has privileges at The Bethesda North hospital, Mercy Anderson hospital, Mercy West hospital, West Chester hospital and the Good Samaritan hospital. He has been rated a top doctor in Cincinnati magazine for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015. Dr. Khan loves to run and play squash. He is blessed with three children who are avid squash players. He is involved in the Institute of Youth Development and Excellence meant to promote positive character development in the youths of our communities. Rachel L. McCravy

Rachel was Born and raised just outside of Cincinnati in Withamsville Ohio. She began her nursing career at Jewish hospital as a Patient Care Assistant On 4 south Telemetry unit while taking on her Bachelors of Nursing Science Degree at the University of Cincinnati. After Graduating she went on to become RN and Clinical Coordinator for the Progressive Care Unit specializing in the care of Vascular, Cardio-Thoracic, and Interventional Cardiology patients. It was at this time that she decided to continue her education and pursue her Masters Degree in Adult- Gero Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with the University of Cincinnati. Rachel is now a Certified Nurse Practitioner with the Ohio board of nursing through the ANCC and the newest member of the Mount Auburn Nephrology team. Rachel is excited to continue advancing her knowledge in Nephrology and incorporating her cardiology experience into her current field. Rachel and her husband currently live in Batavia Ohio where she is the proud mother of a beautiful little girl and two overly jealous and playful border collie mixes. She enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling and is a lover of all things Cincinnati.

Shahzad Safdar

As a Nephrologist, Dr. Safdar specializes in Electrolyte abnormalities, Hypertension, Kidney stones, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, Glomerulonephritis including Lupus Nephritis and other connective tissue related renal diseases, with emphasis in management of Kidney transplant patients and runs a stone clinic for evaluation of patients with kidney stones. He completed his internship and residency at Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania and fellowship at University of Cincinnati. He also got trained in United Kingdom and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). He attended King Edward Medical School in Lahore, Pakistan and worked there in Nephrology and Cardiology. He joined Mt. Auburn Nephrology in 1998 and at present is the President of the group. Dr. Safdar has been an attending nephrologist at The Christ Hospital since 1998 and is involved with teaching of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residents. Dr. Safdar loves to play Tennis and on the weekends he likes to run outdoors.

Shaoming Huang

Dr. Shaoming Huang has more than 30 years experience in patient care with medical research knowledge. He is a certified specialist in the field of Nephrology and Hypertension. Dr. Huang graduated from Beijing Medical University in 1982. He finished Internal Medicine residency in 1986 and Nephrology fellowship in 1989 in Peking Union Medical College Hospital. He received academic Nephrology fellowship training from Weurzburg University School of Medicine and from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Huang then completed internship and residency in Cleveland Clinic Foundation Health System, and Nephrology fellowship in Case Western Reserve University. He has practiced in Mt. Auburn Nephrology since 2000. Dr. Shaoming Huang is married with two daughters. Since he passed the job of lawn mowing to them, he has only one hobby of going to gym. He would like to travel with family more often.

Sudhir Adhikari

Dr Adhikari's wife is a Rheumatologist practicing in Greater Cincinnati. They have 12 and 5 years old sons. He loves music, table tennis, swimming and enjoys family time in weekends.
