Patient Ombudsman is an independent, arm's length organization established by the provincial government in 2014 to receive, respond to and help resolve complaints from patients, residents and caregivers about their experiences in Ontario's public hospitals, long-term care homes, and home and community care. The office officially opened in July 2016 and since that time has continued to work hard to be a champion for fairness in health care... Patient Ombudsman is a champion for fairness in Ontario's health sector organizations defined as public hospitals, long-term care homes and home and community care services coordinated by the Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs, formerly CCACs)...
