QUEER BOOKS

In February 2014, while the store was still struggling to keep above water, we incorporated as Queer Books, LLC and began working at Giovanni's Room in the hopes of saving this invaluable resource. Although we made great strides during our time at Giovanni's Room, Ed was eager to retire from the business after 37 years as owner, and decided to close up shop anyway. Faced with the closure of the nation's oldest queer bookstore, we find ourselves all the more determined to preserve and expand that legacy... In the spirit of Giovanni's Room, we're building a multi-generational hub of queer culture, as relevant and vital to the LGBTQ community as ever before. Like Giovanni's Room, this endeavor will be centered on offering the latest and most diverse selection of queer and feminist literature to LGBTQ-identified people and our allies.
