AKINOSO, BABATUNDE OLADAPO is a chartered accountant with competencies in financial management and audit, internal control investigation and reporting, internal control and accounting process documentation and design. A team player with qualitative years of professional experience, with interests in COSO Internal control framework, financial reporting, forensic audit and assurance, Tax compliance and Advisory. He started his professional career in 1997 with Jubril Olawale Lawal & Co. a firm of chartered accountants, where he was exposed to various aspect of accounting, audit and tax management. He further worked with Foremost Consulting Associate, where he was part of the team that successfully engineered and processed the conversion of over 30 community banks into Microfinance banks in line with Central Bank of Nigeria directive. At FCA, he headed several forensic teams and was instrumental to the detection of over N38million fraud in a major microfinance bank.
Idowu holds the Fellowships of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is the Engagement Partner and leads the Team for your Engagement by virtue of his substantial experience in the field of consulting and financial services. He studied Accountancy at the prestigious premiere Rivers State University of Science & Technology, Port - Harcourt, where he obtained the Higher National Diploma in Accountancy with passes at the distinction level and was the best graduating student in accountancy in 1981. He won several Merit Awards and prizes in the Professional Examinations of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
He trained with Messrs. Akintola Williams & Co. - the prestigious firm of Chartered Accountants, from where he was seconded to the London Office of - Touché Ross International (Touché Ross & Co; England) for specialist training in Computers for Accounting and Auditing and in Database Management Systems. He was nominated for the Firm's 18 - Months International Exchange Programme in Philadelphia, USA. His Portfolio of Clients covered the cream of the large Corporate Clients and boasted of names like Cadbury, WAPCO, Guinness, Afribank, United Bank for Africa, Tourist Company of Nigeria, Nigeria Hotels, Ikeja Hotels, Bouygues, Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc; etc. His industry experience covered Manufacturing, Trading and Properties, Banking and Finance and Healthcare Services when he worked as the Finance Controller of Ekocorp Plc; a Company that he successfully took to the Capital Market twice to raise about N250 million, prior to setting up Southgate Consulting Limited.
Tunde was an Assistant General Manager in charge of Governance, Risk and Compliance at Cardinal Security Services Limited, a foremost security company with over 1,500 personnel and offices in 5 states of the federation, 4 African countries and the United States. He ensured the design and certification of ISO 9001:2008 of Quality Management System (QMS) within a year of joining the company. He also spear headed the set up of an internal control and compliance department for the organization. Tunde is also an Associate Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE) and a member of Other Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG). Tunde has undertaken IFRS Conversion and Advisory for a number of companies ranging from insurance, oil and gas, IT, financial services and Government Business Entities(GBEs). He has conducted IFRS trainings and IPSAS Trainings for several company executes and public sector executives.
