HONOR SOCIETY

Sierra Vista Jr. High School is a member of the California Junior Scholarship Federation, Chapter #257jsc. This state-wide honor society was founded in 1967. It is a subgroup of CSF, the high school honor society founded in 1921 by a school administrator, Mr. Charles F. Seymour. The purpose of the society is to provide those students who excel academically the encouragement to perform school and community services, and to participate in worthwhile activities. Students, who receive at least 16 grade points from the grades of the previous two quarters from their 4 academic classes (math, English, social studies, and Science) may apply for membership (an "A" is valued at 3 points, a "B" is 1 point, and a "C" is 0 points.) Membership in the Sierra Vista Honor Society is held in high esteem, and our staff encourages all eligible students to join.
