Dan has extensive knowledge and expertise across a number of jurisdictions including Family Law, Litigation, Commercial transactions, Corporations Law, Property and Conveyancing, Wills and Estates, Guardianship, and Employment Law. After finishing his Commerce Degree, Dan commenced his career for a business bank in Armidale and then Tamworth. He thereafter relocated to Newcastle and obtained a valuable knowledge base working as an Accountant while completing his Bachelor of Laws. Dan was later admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and commenced his legal career with a small boutique firm in The Junction, Newcastle. Prior to returning to Tamworth in 2012, Dan worked at a large Commercial Law firm in London for 12 months. Dan now accepts instructions from a range of clientele from individuals through to corporate entities operating across a number of industries. He strives to provide an approachable resource for client focused, succinct and commercially relevant advice.

Ed Leyden

Ed has been providing legal expertise in Manilla, Tamworth and North Western NSW for more than 35 years. Ed attended the University of New England where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts. He then completed a Diploma in Law through the Solicitors Admission Board. Following in his father's footsteps Ed was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 1978. Ed has since practised in the local region in the areas of Conveyancing, Property Law, Wills, Estates, Commercial Law and other general areas of the law. Ed is well known in the local region having a strong professional standing in the local community and long standing professional relationships with many of his clients, colleagues and members of local businesses. Ed is particularly interested in the areas of Property Law, Conveyancing and Estate work and has extensive knowledge and experience in these areas of legal practice. Ed is a keen sportsman who enjoys playing tennis and golf having recently retired from playing cricket.

Joe Howard

Joe was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2016 after completing his Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Studies at the University of New England. Joe practiced in Sydney for a national firm and then locally until joining Leyden Legal in early 2022. Joe's practice is focused in the areas of commercial law, employment law, property law, conveyancing and estate planning. Joe is another sports enthusiast within the firm and currently serves as a Director and the Junior Vice President of the Tamworth Jockey Club.

Nick Leyden

Nick is the third generation of the Leyden family to practise law in Manilla, Tamworth and surrounding areas following in the footsteps of his father Ed Leyden and his grandfather, Mark Leyden. Nick has a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Business and joined the firm in 2009 after working in Marketing and Legal roles in Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne and the UK. Nick practises predominantly in the areas of Property Law, Commercial Law, Conveyancing, Wills and Succession Planning. His clients range from businesses and companies that operate in a wide range of sectors in the local area and nationally right through to those purchasing their first home or business. Nick is a sports lover with a particular interest in Cricket, Golf, Tennis and all things involving the Newcastle Knights. He has played competitive Cricket locally as well as in Darwin, Yorkshire and Sydney. He is currently a playing and board member of the Australian Lawyers Cricket Council and has toured Sri Lanka and New Zealand as part of the team. He also sits on the board of the Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS). Nick Leyden has worked with the firm since 2009 after working in a range of legal and marketing positions in Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne and the UK. In 2014 Director Dan Campbell joined the firm after working with a prominent local Solicitor for a number of years following stints with Newcastle and London law firms. On the 1st of July 2016 Leyden Legal Pty Ltd was formed with Edward Leyden, Nick Leyden and Dan Campbell as Solicitor Directors.

Simone has lived in Tamworth since 1987. Following the completion of her tertiary studies, she commenced working in the legal industry. She has an Associate Degree in Law through Southern Cross University and has been a Licensed Conveyancer since 2005.Simone joined Leyden Legal in 2017 as a Licensed Conveyancer and regularly acts for clients in all aspects of residential, rural and commercial Conveyancing. She enjoys attending seminars as well as keeping pace with technological changes in the industry that ultimately assist our clients.Her calm and personable manner is much appreciated by clients and other stakeholders as is her practical approach to ensuring clients receive the best possible outcomes. Simone is available for appointments in both our Manilla and Tamworth offices.

Originally from Muswellbrook, Will moved to Tamworth in early 2020 and began working at Leyden Legal in June 2020. Will graduated from the University of New England in 2019 with a Bachelor of Laws and completed his Graduate Diploma in Practical Legal Training soon after. Will was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW in September 2020.
