VanAntwerp Attorneys, LLP, has a rich heritage and tradition of success representing clients in a broad range of matters since 1923. One of the founding members of the firm, Robert T. Caldwell, drafted the Commonwealth's first workers' compensation legislation when he was an Assistant Attorney General. He then moved to Ashland where, for 50 years, he represented Kentucky manufacturers, including representing the U.S. steel industry at the League of Nations. He served as counsel to Associated Industries of Kentucky until his passing. Howard VanAntwerp, Jr., another founding member of the firm, also focused on representing manufacturers as well as eastern Kentucky's largest medical provider, King's Daughters Medical Center. During the 1930s, Mr. VanAntwerp formed the Ashland Hospital Corp. to save the hospital from closure. Mr. VanAntwerp and his son, Howard VanAntwerp, III served on the board of the institution for many years, with Kimberly S. McCann now continuing the firm's tradition..
