Gary Candlish

Job Titles:
  • Director
Gary has worked in the care industry since 1990. He is a registered nurse and trained at Prudhoe Hospital. Once he was qualified, he went on to work at the semi-secure unit at Earls house hospital, where he met his wife, Linda. Whilst in his nursing role Gary also undertook other responsibilities which included Quality Assurance Co-Ordinator for the hospital and Continence Link Nurse. He is passionate about improving vulnerable peoples quality of life and wanted to raise standards of care by transitioning service users out of hospital back into the community, something which he has done many times. Gary is passionate about life coaching, teaching and he is a professional speaker. He also has a lot of expertise in positive behaviour support and is a level 7 practitioner.

Myles Candlish

Job Titles:
  • Assistant Director
Myles is a young and motivated member of our team who has worked for the company since 2014. He started as a support worker and worked his way to assistant director, which has given him a real understanding how the whole company operates. He is has a first-class honours in Business Management, a Level 5 registered managers award in social care and a Level 5 leadership, and management award. He is also a Level 4 PBS facilitator and is our in-house trainer for Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention which has been approved by the British Institute of learning disabilities. He also got the company approved by the restrain reduction network. Myles is passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of our service users.

Naomi Candlish

Job Titles:
  • Operations Manager
Naomi has worked for the company since 2017. She feels passionately about making sure that all of the service users have a great quality of life and that the company systems run smoothly so that the management have less paperwork time and more time to spend time with the service users. Naomi previously was a full-time hairdresser, however she wanted to help others and be more fulfilled, so she decided to join the family business. She often goes into the homes to bond with the service users and cut their hair. Naomi is responsible for the onboarding of all new staff members and guides them through our induction process so that they are fully complaint and ready to begin work.

Pauline Hughes

Job Titles:
  • Area Manager
Pauline has extensive experience in the care industry, she has managed multiple large services for people with dementia, mental health, and learning disabilities, and came to work at Ashdown care in 2006 as a home manager and worked her way up to area manager. Pauline's aim is to provide a warm, homely environment for people who use the service based on individual needs and encourage them to develop to their full potential. Pauline has completed her level 5 registered manager's award and is also qualified trainer in Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention which has been approved by the British Institute of learning disabilities. She is a fantastic peoples person and an expert in supporting people with challenging behaviour.

Ray Page

Job Titles:
  • Area Manager
Ray has worked in the care and support sector for many year and came to work at Ashdown Care in June 2014 as a home manager and was promoted to area manager in 2022. Ray has completed a Leadership and Management in Care award and specialises in housing and supporting individuals with complete needs. Ray has a fantastic sense of humour and is highly respected across the whole company. Rays is passionate about maintaining high standards for the service users and his aim is to ensure that they have the opportunity to live a happy, independent life with all necessary support along the way.
