KIS is the home of Elite Hanoverian Stallion Donavan and Rosall, Oldenburg Stallion... Kent Island Sporthorses opened its doors on October 6th, 2007 when the main group of horses arrived from Riverland Farm in WI. Donavan landed that day into the care of his wonderful trainer and former Rider, JJ Tate... At Kent Island Sporthorses we subscribe to the notion from Anna Sewell's beloved book "Black Beauty" that horses should be raised with "patience and gentleness, firmness and petting, one pound of each to be mixed up with half a pint of common sense and given to the horse everyday."
