Dubai's population grew 5% in 2016 according to the Dubai Statistics Centre, the urban population will be more than 2.4 million residents in 2017. Due to growth in population there is a need to construct more mosques in line with population distribution and density. Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) have dedicated in excess of Dhs 440 million for 2017 investment in new mosque construction.
