Andy Allan - CFO

Job Titles:
  • Finance Director
Andy heads up Finance, and is responsible for the development of a financial strategy, forecasts and metrics, fund raising to support expansion, financial reporting, IT systems, risk management and compliance. Andy has over 20 years experience in the North West property market, he was group FD at Bruntwood for 10 years and FD of Bruntwood Science when it was established and acquired Manchester Science Park and Alderley Park. Andy is a keen cyclist and in his spare time he runs a local Duke of Edinburgh Award centre with over 200 members. Andy recently moved to the North Norfolk coast following his wife's appointment as a vicar. They and have three daughters and two dogs who are enjoying life in the countryside.

Dan Symonds

Dan has a great deal of experience in mixed-use development, with a passion for working in the residential and industrial sectors.

Daniel Roberts

Job Titles:
  • Senior Development Manager
Danny excels in managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects. He's adept at creating the essential links between spades in the ground and ‘the suits' in the office. Danny's previous roles include Development Manager for Select Property Group/Vita Group and Project Manager for Rider Levett Bucknall, working with private and public sector clients in regeneration, retail, and industrial sectors. Danny is our resident restaurant critic. He's also husband to an interior designer, father to ‘a four-year old teenager', and clings to the glories of participating in the Rugby League GB Australia Tour 2003.

Guy Butler - Founder

Guy predominantly works at the front end of investment and development projects, finding opportunities and building relationships to ensure the delivery stage is successfully reached. At Grosvenor, Guy spent 15 years working across London and the UK on a number of large and complex city centre projects, the greatest of which was Liverpool ONE. The retail and leisure-led £1.2bn project covered 42 acres and included 700 apartments and three hotels. This man is a self-confessed Petrol Head, but being motor-obsessed and the only male in a horse-mad home has its challenges. Guy competes in forest rallying and rides motorcycles, recently completing the iconic Route 66 which winds 2,000 miles from Chicago to LA. Aside from getting around on a variety of wheels, Guy has taken part in over 100 Parkruns and whilst not built for speed, his next goal is to complete 250.

Ian Sherry - Founder

Ian's experience as a property developer goes back over two decades. He's been a director and major shareholder in several businesses, and taken in total, these ventures have delivered over 3.7m sq ft of commercial and residential accommodation, with a GDV of more than £480m.

Liam Gordon

Job Titles:
  • Project Manager
Currently, much of Liam's time is devoted to STOK - Glenbrook's conversion of the former M&S store in central Stockport. Plot D3 is another major project claiming Liam's attention, a 280-bed residential scheme in the heart of Media City at Salford Quays. Liam worked with The Marcus Worthington Group for over 9 years, focusing primarily on the North West region. He successfully delivered a range of projects for the developer/contractor, including over 1000 student beds, along with several hotels and retail parks. More recently Liam was involved in developing The Forge, a 282 bed BTR scheme in the heart of Newcastle city centre. When time allows, he will indulge his passions for art and architecture, road cycling, golf, and craft beer. Good coffee and wine also float Liam's boat, along with Manchester United, podcasts, and economics.

Lyndsey Netherwood

  • Accounts Assistant
Lyndsey keeps our accounts in trim and impeccably presented, which is perhaps explained by her twin fortés of professional bookkeeper and beauty therapist. As a Level 2 accredited bookkeeper she is well-versed in the intricacies of accounts and credit control. Lyndsey's wide ranging accountancy experience has been accrued through working for F2G Pharmaceuticals and Johnsons Apparelmaster Ltd, and along the way she has also found time to qualify as a Skincare Beauty Therapist. Outside of professional life, she and her partner John are kept busy parenting their son Charlie. Family and friends are Lyndsey's big priorities, and she loves animals too - it's no surprise that their dog Betsy is very much part of the family. Lyndsey's also a big fan of music, dance and keeping in shape with Spin sessions at the gym.

Martin Bell

Alongside contemplating overseas travel adventures or the fortunes of his beloved Burnley FC, Martin makes sure that the Group's statutory financial reporting requirements are met, as part of several other crucial responsibilities.

Richard Rees - Chief Investment Officer

Richard describes one of his most important strengths as ‘joining the dots' - a simple phrase that encompasses a host of crucial skills, experience, and abilities. He has been instrumental in growing Glenbrook's Private Client Investment arm. Richard has also built a hydro business, and is Managing Director of North Wales Hydro Power Ltd. Richard has an abiding love of the country way of life. He is married to Louise and they have a baby girl called Amelia. He's a keen sportsman, particularly enjoying squash, skiing, and cycling. Richard is also a proponent of and participant in underwater hockey!

Scott Griffiths

Job Titles:
  • Director - Investment Management
Scott oversees the investment team, undertaking investment management and ensuring transactions roll across existing portfolios, as well as seeking new capital. Scott has significant experience which includes working with the national investment team at Drivers Jonas Deloitte, and with Aberdeen Standard Investments where he was responsible for a UK-wide portfolio of circa £500M, and completing over £400M of transactions. Scott has two young kids, and can't wait to relive his own childhood by introducing them to Europe's water parks and whitewater rafting in Colorado.

Shannon Conway

Shannon is passionate about creating communities for all ages and all levels of affordability. She maintains an open mind when it comes to approaches, solutions, and partnerships. Her avid interest in emerging trends and research helps keep us ahead of the residential curve. She has worked in residential property since 2003, racking up 15 years experience at JLL where she was a Lead Director. Shannon has known Guy and Ian for over 15 years so when she decided to go ‘client-side' in 2020, Glenbrook was the obvious choice. Outside of work Shannon loves exploring Europe in a motorhome. She's strongly committed to sustainability too, including ‘not buying new' - you'd never guess that all her clothes are preloved! Any spare time she has is devoted to testing cookbook recipes with her daughter and posting her reviews on Instagram. Shannon sits on the board of her local Community Land Trust (CLT), participates in the GMCA Housing, Planning and Ageing Working Group, is a guest lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University and Sheffield Hallam University, and, as a past Chair of Women in Property, now holds a committee role.

Siobhan Ellis

Siobhan graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Real Estate, and wasted no time in moving her career off the starting blocks with a role in Kent County Council's estate team. Next followed a move to Workman LLP in Central Manchester, where Siobhan began to build her knowledge and expertise in property and asset management through working as a Management Surveyor. Three and a half years later Siobhan joined JLL in Manchester, where she continued to expand her experience, managing a varied portfolio of properties for several large institutional investment clients. Her career progression continued as Siobhan worked for Matthews and Goodman with a focus on high-net-worth clients. Now we're pleased to say Siobhan is fabulous asset for Glenbrook. In our opinion - and that of our clients - it's clear that Siobhan knows property and asset management inside-out, with a particularly deep understanding of the sector here in the North West.

Solomon Halpern

Job Titles:

Solomon began his career in business aged just 18, by opening Panda Value, a successful pop-up store in Bury's Mill Gate Shopping Centre. From those early beginnings Solomon's strong entrepreneurial instincts have led him to continued success in the property business. As a Property Surveyor and Analyst with The Hallmark Group, his responsibilities encompassed sourcing and vetting acquisitions, property appraisal, growth forecasting and risk assessment. The role also involved property management and maintenance. Working in Acquisitions and Development for Cert Property, Solomon sought-out and assessed land and buildings for development across Manchester and the North West. Solomon was part of a team taking high quality, high yield residential and commercial projects from concept to completion - in one case he was responsible for acquiring the plot for a high-rise apartment building with a projected GDV of around £25m. Leisure-wise, Solomon enjoys ‘a good social' and sports such as F1, tennis and football (on the terraces and on the pitch). He's also a keen traveller and never happier than when experiencing new places and cultures.

Stuart McCrone

Stuart heads Glenbrook's project management team, looking after all aspects of project delivery from project inception to handover. His focus is on front- end project feasibility, design, planning and procurement. Stuart is also our lead on sustainability, responsible for guiding Glenbrook towards becoming a net zero carbon business. Stuart has worked in property development for over 15 years, much of the time alongside our Co-founder Ian Sherry. Before working at Glenbrook, Stuart delivered project management of large scale refurbishment and new build projects for Drivers Jonas and Davis Langdon. Stuart once completed a marathon, albeit not quickly! He is a keen golfer and loves skiing, preferably in Vancouver and Whistler, having spent time growing up in Canada in his younger days.
