Dr Vishy Karri - Founder

Dr Vishy Karri has held various academic and leadership positions at the University of Melbourne, the University of Tasmania and in the Middle East. Over the past 25 years, Dr Karri has worked in the field of multi-disciplinary manufacturing as well as Artificial Intelligence and sustainability. His research work encompasses alternative energy sources and AI-ML applications in sustainability and water. His work on applied artificial intelligence, as virtual sensors, has been well cited and used. He has published over 200 peer reviewed papers and has been granted several patents which are currently being used by industry. Dr Karri has received a number of national awards for research excellence. He is the recipient of the Australia's most innovative engineer by Engineers Australia in 2017. His concurrent appointments include adjunct professor at Cape Breton University, Senior Fellow of the Verschuren Centre for Sustainability in Energy and the Environment in Canada and Hon. University Professorial fellow at Charles Darwin University, Australia Dr Karri worked in the fields of multi-disciplinary applied neural networks (IT) and renewable technologies in the last 25 years. His work involved trans-disciplinary engineering resulting in over 200 peer reviewed papers and graduated 36 research higher degrees (PhD and MEngSci) as principal supervisor and 50 research honours students in his career. Dr Karri has been visiting professor for universities in Japan, Germany, USA and India over the years, conferred guest professorship at the Shandong University, Jinan, China in 2005 and Villum foundation fellow at Aalborg University, Denmark in 2016. Dr Karri is also university professorial fellow at the Charles Darwin University in Australia. Some of his accolades include, winner of Australian Award for University Teaching in physical sciences and related studies in 2001; winner of two prestigious Engineering Excellence awards organized by the Engineers Australia of Tasmania in 2003 and 2005; Finalist, National Achiever, organized by the National Industry Awards in 2004,2005; Conferred Doctorate of Letters (h.c) by the Cape Breton University in Australia in 2013; Awarded Australia's most innovative engineer, organized by the Engineers Australia in utilities in 2017; Dr Karri also has several patents to his name, based on which an Australian company Expert365 Pty Ltd., was established in 2015.

Dr. Simon J.D. Schillebeeckx - Founder

Dr. Simon J.D. Schillebeeckx is the co-founder and Chief Vision Officer of Handprint, a SaaS-enabled impact marketplace that helps companies grow with the planet by integrating and automating positive impact creation into their daily business processes. Simon also co-founded the Global Mangrove Trust, a non-profit working on large scale mangrove restoration and conservation. Outside of his entrepreneurial activities, he is Assistant Professor of Strategy & Entrepreneurship at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business of SMU where he studies and teaches business model innovation and digital sustainability. Before his move to Singapore in 2015, Simon obtained a PhD in Management from Imperial College London, worked in sustainable innovation consulting, and read Corporate Social Responsibility (MA, Nottingham University) and Commercial Engineering (BSc & MSc, Catholic University of Leuven). He is also a certified Non-Executive Director.

Dr. Tien Ho

Dr. Tien Ho holds concurrent positions as Principal Engineer, University Senior Lecturer, Honorary Research Professor/Associate and Private Investor. His career to date involved working and association with University of Tasmania, Transend Networks Pty. Ltd., Tasmanian Networks Pty. Ltd., VPL Energy Joint Stock Company and Petrol VietNam Technical Consulting Services Corporation in varied roles. His work appeared more than 30 times in the media and newspapers.

One of Dr Ho's passions is to apply cutting-edge renewable technologies for social and environmental impact. He holds a PhD from the University of Tasmania and continues to invest in various fast growing early stage ventures in renewable energy technology. Dr. Ho is the managing director of the newly formed Expert365-Vietnam to promote AI-ML tools for rural water disinfection and online monitoring in the region. He continues to give public lectures and presentation across Australia and overseas.

Karl Schutte

Karl Schutte is a capital markets and mergers and acquisitions professional specialising in the renewable energy and clean technology fields. Karl is also a principal with Eaton Square a cross border M&A specialist firm. Karl has worked in the Investment Banking sector in a strategic advisory and capital raising role for the past 30 years including with Rand Merchant Bank in South Africa and Deutsche Bank , NM Rothschild and Grant Samuel in Australia. Karl began his career as a chartered accountant with KPMG. Karl's Education include a B Com (Honours) -University of the Witwatersrand, MBA - Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Master of Environmental Management - Macquarie University

Michael Negnevitsky

Professor Michael Negnevitsky is the Chair in Power Engineering and Computational Intelligence, and the Director of the Centre for Renewable Energy and Power Systems at the University of Tasmania, Australia. He is also Honorary Professor of Shandong University of Science and Technology, China. Professor Negnevitsky has authored and co-authored more than 400 refereed research publications including 70 journal papers, 10 chapters in books, 2 books, 8 edited conference proceedings and received 4 patents for inventions. His book "Artificial Intelligence" has been translated into Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and Vietnamese. Professor Negnevitsky delivered numerous invited lectures including UMIST Manchester, University of Eindhoven, Boston University, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Colorado at Denver, Arizona State University, University of Birmingham, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Moscow Technical University of Power Engineering, St. Petersburg State Technical University, ETH-Zurich, TU-Dortmund and TU-Berlin. He led numerous industrial and research projects in renewable and distributed generation. Professor Negnevitsky is Chartered Professional Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. He is Vice Chair of the IEEE PES Working Group on Asian and Australasian Infrastructure and Chair of the Australian Committee for Power Engineering.

Ms Hannah Oh

As an experienced commercial and marketing business leader with 15 years of experience in agriculture and sustainability sector, Hannah is an impact investor/ advisor who is passionate about unlocking synergies between to ag/food and climate tech start ups and philanthropic foundations and impact capital. Until recently, she served as the Head of Global Water initiative at Bayer, bringing NGOs, private sector companies and financial institutions to serve local communities with access to clean water and hygiene, as well as addressing more efficient ways for agriculture industry's use of freshwater consumption. She is also a board member to a NASDAQ listed agri nutrition and supply chain company. In 2023, Hannah was chosen as Singapore's top 30 Women of Power, recognised for her work in uplifting farmers, women and children in rural communities through high impact, digitally measurable and verifiable projects in clean water and clean cooking.

Ole Madsen

Professor Ole Madsen currently holds both teaching and active research positions in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Aalborg University, Denmark. He has served as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor, and has worked for Odense Staalskibsværft A/S as consultant, for IWA (Intelligent Welding Automation) A/S as co-founder, system developer and manager, and Grundfos A/S where he focused on the development of automation equipment. Professor Madsen is a world-renowned thought leader and contributor to the area of manufacturing technology and industrial automation. With more than 80 international publications, and having participated in a number of Danish national projects (e.g. IPS, Lasos, MoveBots, Handyman, BinPicker, ROBOCUT), as well as international EU-funded research projects (e.g. RobVision, Flexpaint, Docklaser, SLAPS, Eco2painter, TAPAS, GISA), his research contributions have helped shaped the progress and evolution of Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Suresh Thennadil

Suresh Thennadil is the Director of the Energy and Resources Institute (ERI). Suresh's career has spanned both industry and academia. Throughout his academic career, Suresh has been engaged in developing highly inter-disciplinary industry-focussed research programmes that included collaborations with a range of companies in the chemicals sector. Suresh and his team won the first place in the 2015 Converge Challenge, which is an annual award for the best University spinout in Scotland. He was also the recipient of a 5-year EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship from 2003 - 2008. Suresh's research expertise lies in the development of spectroscopic instruments for non-invasive and in-line analysis of chemical, medical and agricultural samples, application of chemometric and machine learning techniques for extracting information from those measurements as well as complex datasets from chemical processes. He is also currently developing a research program at Charles Darwin University in waste-to-energy technologies. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Australia and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). He is a member of the IChemE's panel of University accreditation assessors. He has served on the Australian Research Council College of Experts (2016 - 2018) and was nominated as Deputy Chair of the Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences panel in 2018. He is an Executive Committee member of the Intyalheme Centre for Future Energy. He was a member of the Peer Review College of UK's Engineering and Physical Sciences Council (EPSRC) from 2006 - 2014. He has also previously served as expert evaluator of funding proposals under the European Union's Framework 7 programme.
