ITEACH

iTeach is a Smartphone App which allows local ‘teachers' such as the health worker, the literacy teacher or the agricultural expert, create simple lessons combining images, audio and text... In rural communities there is knowledge and wisdom where an individual will be a teacher in one subject and a student in another e.g. a school teacher can teach someone to read and write but doesn't know how to tend to their animals in times of disease or to their garden to produce food for their family in times of drought... iTeach provides a tool that allows ‘teachers' to create step by step lessons consisting of images, audio and text using their Smartphone, in their own language. These lessons are transferred to the ‘student's' smartphone off-line with no network or data bundle required.
