Our customers live in both worlds, so we need to operate in both too. The internet, apps and social media have changed the buying process so that early stages are now done on-line - e.g. instead of a sales person visiting a customer (B2B) or a consumer visiting a shop (B2C) - and sometimes the whole transaction is on-line. We now routinely use on-line & digital marketing tactics, and need to integrate that activity with off-line tactics - e.g. sales events & promotions, telephone support, retail outlets, advertising, PR.
